Micah 6:9-15 THE CONSEQUENCES OF LIE AND DECEPTION

Listen! The Lord is calling to the city- and to fear your name is wisdom-

"Heed the rod and the One who appointed it.[]

10

Am I still to forget your ill-gotten treasures, you wicked house,

and the short ephah,[] which is accursed?

11

Shall I acquit someone with dishonest scales, with a bag of false weights?

12

Your rich people are violent; your inhabitants are liars and their tongues speak deceitfully.

13

Therefore, I have begun to destroy you, to ruin[] you because of your sins.

14

You will eat but not be satisfied; your stomach will still be empty.[]

You will store up but save nothing, because what you save[] I will give to the sword.

15

You will plant but not harvest; you will press olives but not use the oil,

you will crush grapes but not drink the wine.

9 Pamati kamo sa ginasiling sang Ginoo sa siyudad sang Jerusalem, kay ang nagatahod sa iya amo ang may husto nga kaalam:

"Kamo nga mga miyembro sang tribo sang Juda, magtipon kamo sa siyudad sang Jerusalem kag magpamati.[]

10 Malaot kamo nga katawhan! Indi ko malimtan ang mga manggad nga natipon ninyo sa malain nga paagi. Nagagamit kamo sang indi husto nga talaksan-ang buluhaton nga akon ginapakamalaot.

11 Indi puwede nga pabay-an ko lang kamo sa inyo nga pagpangdaya sa inyo kilohan. 12 Mapintas ang inyo manggaranon nga mga tawo, kag mga butigon kamo.

13 Gani tungod sang inyo mga sala gin-umpisahan ko na ang pagsilot sa inyo para laglagon kamo.

14 Matuod nga makakaon kamo, pero indi kamo mabusog; permi gihapon kamo gutumon. Magatipon kamo sang mga patubas, pero indi ninyo ini mapuslan, kay ipakuha ko ini sa inyo mga kaaway sa tion sang inaway.

15 Magatanom kamo, pero indi kamo ang magaani sini. Magapuga kamo sang mga olibo, pero indi kamo ang magapulos sang lana sini. Magalinas kamo sang mga ubas, pero indi kamo ang magainom sang bino sini.

SERMON:

Today's Word on Micah chapter 6 tells about one of the cases that God took against Israel. God saw that Israel has been lying and cheating and being dishonest with their dealings. And so God declares that He shall punish the people for it.

Lying or cheating or stealing and deception are some of the most common sins committed by everyone. And it is said that man can only be honest if he admits that he is a liar. Ang tawo mangin matinud-anon lamang kung angkunon niya nga butigon siya.

Lying is so easy to do. Perhaps that is the reason why that it is the very first trick that the devil used to get Eve to eat the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. The sin of lie and deception.

First of all, what is lie and deception? There is a slight difference between lying and deceiving.

Lie is is of course, statements spoken with the intention to hide the truth, While Deception on the other hand includes spoken or actions done to mislead people from knowing the truth or believe what is not true.
