Less than a year later, 15th February 2019, Ariana released a new album again. 'thank u, next'. Her best album.
It's been almost three years since Y/n's and Ariana's break up and it was the first time that Y/n had met up with Joan and Aaliyah again.
"Y/n!" She was engulfed in a big hug.
"Hey." Y/n smiled.
"You look horrible!" Aaliyah gasped.
"Wow thanks. What is it this time?" Y/n asked.
"You lost so much weight oh my gosh!" Aaliyah said.
"Last time I gained wheight, now I lost a lot of weight." Y/n laughed.
"Who said that?" Joan asked.
"Ariana two years ago when we were flying back home after Manchester." Y/n answered.
"I didn't notice at all." Aaliyah said.
"Me neither." Joan nodded.
"Yeah only Ariana noticed. She knows me the best that's why. But she didn't say it in a bad way. She could tell I had been eating fast food every day for about a year." Y/n said.
"You didn't look like that." Joan said.
"Because I still went to the gym. I don't have the time anymore." Y/n said.
They talked about a lot of things before Y/n mentioned Ariana and her new album.
"Ariana's doing better. She's happy with herself at the moment." Joan said.
"That new album didn't seem like that." Y/n raised her eyebrows.
"What did you think about you being mentioned in the song 'thank u, next'?" Aaliyah asked with a smile.
The line dedicated to Y/n was: "wanna say thank you to Y/n, cause she is an angel."
"I cried myself to sleep after that line but it's fine." Y/n laughed.
"Aww!" Joan and Aaliyah awwed.
"You two are like two old aunties who gossip about everything." Y/n laughed again.
"You and Ariana are just too cute." Joan said.
"I just love her with all my heart. That's nothing." Y/n said and the two woman awwed again.
"So another album about me huh?" Y/n asked.
"Oh someone's confident." Aaliyah said.
Y/n was everything but confident. She was losing herself in Amani's case and that's why she needed to meet up with her own family again.
"So 'imagine' is about Ariana wanting the perfect love with me?" Y/n asked.
"Yes." Joan answered.
"And 'needy' is about her insecure side? About how she can get really clingy and just needy, right?" Y/n asked.
"You'd know that best since it's about you as well." Aaliyah said.
"It never bothered me." Y/n said with a shrug.
"I'm going to tell her that." Aaliyah said.
"Go ahead." Y/n smiled.
"And I don't care about 'NASA' because I know it's not about me. She never wants space from me." Y/n said and both women widened their eyes.
"Don't be too confident about that Y/n." Joan said.
"What? You gon' tell me I'm wrong?" Y/n asked and both stayed silent.
