"Hey." Ariana said once Y/n arrived home at 7pm, five hours later than she was supposed to be home.
"Hi baby." Y/n said and Ariana rolled her eyes.
"Where were you Y/n?" She asked and Y/n sighed.
"At work." Y/n told her.
"You were supposed to be here five hours ago." Ariana said.
"I know baby but I had to do something important." Y/n told her.
"And you couldn't send me a text and tell me?" Ariana asked.
"I forgot." Y/n said honestly but Ariana scoffed.
"Yeah okay." She said and walked away.
"Baby come on." Y/n sighed.
"No, Y/n. I made you lunch but that is cold as fuck now but you can have the dinner that I made you as well." Ariana said and walked upstairs to their room.
Y/n was starving so she decided to eat dinner first while Ariana cried into her pillow. She was scared that she would lose Y/n again because of something work related. And she felt a distance between them and it was killing her.
After Y/n finished eating, she washed the dishes and went upstairs to her and Ariana's room.
"Thank you- no baby what's wrong?" Y/n asked once she saw Ariana crying on their bed.
Ariana didn't reply, she just kept crying.
"Baby, talk to me." Y/n sat down next to Ariana.
"No, Y/n!" Ariana cried.
"I love you baby." Y/n rubbed her back and Ariana sat up.
"I love you too." She said through tears and Y/n pouted.
"Come here." Y/n opened her arms and Ariana hugged her.
"I'm scared Y/n/n." Ariana sobbed into her chest.
"Why baby?" Y/n asked and kissed the top of her head.
"I'm scared that I'll lose you again. I missed you so much when you were gone. So so much." Ariana sobbed.
"Baby, don't you think I missed you? You think that me looking the way I did was because of the case? It was because I was missing you." Y/n told her and Ariana looked up.
"And you think me losing so much weight was because of everything else happening in my life? It was because of you. I missed your presence every day in my life. Not one day did I get used to not waking up beside you. My heart was aching every second without you. And I really, really don't want that again." Ariana's eyes filled with tears again.
"It won't happen baby. I'll marry you very soon." Y/n said.
"Promise?" Ariana asked.
"I promise my love." Y/n kissed her forehead.
It's been two days later and Y/n was in a cafe downtown drinking a cold drink. She was deeply in her thoughts until someone walked up to her.
"Hi. Why are you so lonely agent?" Ms. Crossroad asked.
"Hey. I just needed some off time." Y/n said.
"From your girlfriend?" Ms. Crossroad asked.
"No. Why are you alone here though Ms. Crossroad?" Y/n asked.
"Just call me Lisa. But I'm here to calm down too. Mind if I sit down with you?" Lisa asked.
"I don't think that's really appropriate considering I'm investigating against you." Y/n said.
