"Ariana where are you going?" Dalton asked.

"I've got to do something important." Ariana said before leaving.

She was about to do something she knew she shouldn't. She couldn't shake the thought off her head that Y/n had solved Amani's case. It has been nearly five years after all and she thought Y/n must've been done by now.

But Y/n wasn't.

So right now Ariana was on her way to Amani's parents. One thing followed after another and Amani's mom, Fatima, opened the door for Ariana.

"Hello?" She asked confused.

"Hi. I'm Ariana. I wanted to ask you something." Ariana shook Fatima's hand.

"I was dating an agent that worked on your daughter's case years ago." Ariana explained.

"Oh come in." Fatima welcomed Ariana in.

"So you said you were?" She asked.

"Yeah we broke up because we never talked to each other anymore because of the hard work on Amani's case." Ariana explained.

"Oh I'm so sorry." Fatima said and hugged Ariana.

"Oh it's okay. It's almost been 5 years after all." Ariana said.

"If you didn't care you wouldn't be here." Fatima said and Ariana just smiled.

"Were you dating Y/n?" Fatima asked, catching Ariana off guard.

"Yes." Ariana admitted.

"She told me about you the last time I saw her." Fatima said and Ariana's eyes lit up immediately.

"What did she say?" Ariana asked.

"She said that you motivate her a lot to solve Amani's case because that's the reason why you two broke up. She also told me you two were together for nine years." Fatima told Ariana.

"Oh yeah. We were together since we were 13 and 14." Ariana said.

Fatima looked down at Ariana's engagement ring before looking back up at her.

"I see you've moved on." Fatima said.

"I haven't. I thought I did but I just can't. That's why I'm here. I don't want to spend the rest of my life crying for her and hurting. And I want to know if it's worth the wait." Ariana said honestly.

"What happened to Amani's case?" She asked.

"They made her a cold case. They're not actively working on her case until they have a new lead." Fatima said, clearly saddened by that.

"Oh I'm sorry." Ariana said.

She was surprised to hear those news.

"Yes. We were mad to be honest because Y/n promised us that she would solve the case." Fatima admitted and Ariana nodded understandingly.

"I'm sure she is working on it. Y/n never breaks a promise." Ariana said.

"Thank you for coming here. It was good talking to someone about this again." Fatima said and Ariana nodded her head.

"Here's my number. If you need anything, text me." Ariana gave Fatima her number.

"I will, thank you." Fatima hugged Ariana.

They said their goodbyes before Ariana left and got inside her car. She went somewhere she shouldn't again.

"Eat this. And call me if you need something." Aaliyah told her daughter.

"Fine." Y/n sighed.

"And have some rest tonight." Aaliyah said before she left.

Less than two minutes after Aaliyah left, Y/n's doorbell rang. Thinking that her mom forgot something, Y/n immediately opened the door.
