Party Confrontation

As the guests arrived, she greeted each one with a kind smile. She couldn't believe it. Her little girl was six years old today. He daughter, Leona, was surrounded by all her friends from primary. A giggle came from the little girl as the doorbell rang once more. She looked round; who was missing? Everyone she had invited was already here. She opened the door. As she registered who it was here eyes went wide. Before her was the love of her life. The one who had left on a mission and came back with a new woman instead. 

"James." She stated still frozen at the door. "

Tala, we need to talk. Melody showed me the pictures. I need to know. I-if it's true." He said carefully. She responded with a sigh.

"I can't do this, not today. I have a party to host." 

He gave her a hopeful look. "Just tell me who the father is." 

She looked down for a moment before meeting his eyes. "Not part of her life. He left right before I found out."

"I asked who he is not where he is." He growled.  Tala was almost in tears at this point. 

"It's you." She said, barely above a whisper. "You left the day I found out, and then when you came back the fight happened and there was no time to tell." He hugged her firmly. 

"She enchanted me on my mission. If you'll have me. I promise to stay."
