25. Sascha

After all, I still chose to go back to the apartment around three in the afternoon. I texted Kk letting him know that I am already on my way back, he replied, and saying that he won't be home for another hour yet since their team meeting got extended.

He reminded me to just ignore Hailey if it still bugs me, but I mentally reminded myself too earlier that I should give her a chance because maybe it's just me and my head being paranoid or something.

"Hey!" I greeted her as I entered the room, I'm trying to be as friendly as possible.

"Hey." She replied looking back at me she is busy doing something on her phone.

"Where's Luke?" I asked when I noticed that she is alone in the living room.

"He's asleep."

"Oh, right." I said and slowly went to the kitchen counter to pour myself some water to drink.

"What time will Jeppu be home?"

Jeppu? I wanted to repeat but I just rubbed it away totally pretending that she calls Jesperi with a different nickname that I just heard for the first time. There is nothing that I should make as a big deal today, I reminded myself.

"Not in an hour." I answered then silence take over again.

After washing the glass I used, I grab my bag again and was about to enter Kk's room but she sighed and called me by my name for the first time since I arrived.

"Yes?"

"Can we talk for a second?"

"Sure." I said and just swing my bag inside Kk's room and closed it behind me.

I then just grabbed the nearest chair at the breakfast counter and sat there facing Hailey who's seating on the couch, I am suddenly on edge and to be safe being far from her is a great idea.

"Can I ask you something?"

"What is it?"

"What's going on between you and Jesperi?"

I began to wonder.

"Why are you asking me that? Isn't it still not obvious?" I said chuckling.

She sighed. "I know there's something special going on between you two."

"Yeah, there is." I supplied letting her get the message to accept the fact.

"But you need to stop it!" She dropped.

I chuckled in complete disbelief. "And why would I--- and who are you to tell me that?"

"You're ruining us! You're ruining Jesperi, Luke and my life."

"What the hell are you talking about?"

My whole body is shaking when I hear those words came out of her mouth, am I just another woman out here? Am I ruining a fucking family right now?

Hailey started sobbing, and my whole body tenses as it reminded me of my whole situation before. Am I have just getting played at again?

"I'm trying to save me and Jesperi's relationship for Luke... And I can't just do that because of you!"

"That's not true!" I protested, but my whole system couldn't handle the trigger. My trauma resurfaced and this time, I wasn't the victim!

I became the homewrecker...

I ditched the whole confrontation, I packed my bags and leave. I couldn't handle it no more!

I was right!

Luke is Jesperi's son and I just ruined it for being with Kk. I felt sorry for Hailey, but I don't have the courage anymore to apologize.

I storm out of the apartment, I have to go back to my dorm. There's no point of being in here anymore! As I was walking out, Kk's car suddenly parked in front. He immediately went out of the car and blocked my way.

"Woah, woah! What the hell is going on Sascha? Why are you crying? What happened?"

"Really? You're just going to act like there's nothing fishy going on in here?" I said in complete disbelief. "What is wrong with you, huh?"

"Wha-- I don't understand!"

"Am I just a joke to you?" Tears just couldn't stop coming out from my eyes, I'm so angry right now. "You lied to me about everything! And I'm ruining a fucking family right in front of your faces and you just--"

"Where did you get that shit ass informations? That's a complete lie." Jesperi cut me off and he's already yelling at me too. "I already told you the truth! How co--"

"It's Hailey!" I dropped. "She told me that she's trying to fix you and your family and I just happen to ruin it!"

"Don't listen to here!"

"Stop lying to me!" I yelled in complete frustration.

"I am not!" He yelled back. "Okay! I admit! Something happened between me and Hailey way back in the day when we were fifteen or something! But I am not Luke's father!"

"Oh my god!" I said completely disturbed by his revelation.

"I am telling the truth! Just please, Sascha don't leave."

"You didn't told me everything! You told me that she is just your childhood friend and now you're saying that something happened between you two before, and you still expect me to believe you?"

"That was just a mistake Sas! We were so young at that time!"

I shake my head.

"I'm trying to trust you here, but guess that won't be happening anymore." I said and walked out.

"Don't just walk away!" He yelled. "See, this is the problem with you Sascha! You're so fund of walking away when things don't make sense!"

"I know! Because this..." I started pointing between me and him. "This is over!"

"Sascha, don't do this!"

"Think, it should be better if we'll end this."
