~Y/N's POV~
I sighed to myself as I made the decision to remain in the REC room, enjoying the peace and quiet while I reflected back on the hour I had spent with the man I had previously assumed hated me to my very core, but who, for some reason, seemed to have a soft spot for me.
I had been alone in the REC Room for what felt like hours, but had only been a matter of minutes, when I heard footsteps enter. When I turned to see who it was, I noticed Soap standing there yawning. I waved a little as I drank the last of my now-cold coffee. He grinned weary at me and said, "Good morning, Stalker," in a loud Scottish accent.
I responded, "Morning MacTavish," nodding. He approached the coffee maker, and when he noticed that I had left some for him, he turned to me and grinned.
I noticed that he was still looking at me and noticed a shift in his attitude as he approached me holding his coffee mug and asking, "What happened to your head?" It hadn't occurred to me before, but I could see when he entered that he was still exhausted.
"Training with Ghost," I answered dryly. He nodded, but after processing what I said, I noticed that he appeared astonished and exclaimed, "Wait, what?!"
"Yeah, meeting him at the crack of dawn today to train was more of a demand than a request. Things were going well until the asshole pulled out some of his tricks."
He questioned with a slightly concerned expression, "Wait, did he intentionally injure you? Did you two have another argument?"
I shook my head quickly and was a little surprised by how fast I had defended Ghost, "No no, he wasn't trying to. I headbutted him and struck his mask, and the force of the blow caused my head to bleed. The one who patched me up was him."
After I mentioned this, Soap relaxed a little and nodded, saying, "Looks like you're warming up to him."
"Yeah, right," I responded with a sarcastic roll of my eyes.
Nevertheless, as soon as he entered, Gaz appeared to be more asleep than alive. He stumbled over furniture and fell to the couch before landing on his stomach and snoring lightly.
"When do you think Price will have more information regarding the mission?" I turned to face Soap after hearing him laugh at Gaz and I just shook my head. Soap merely replied, "Probably soon," while continuing to drink his coffee.
"Wait, where are you going?" He asked as I stood up and started to leave after giving him a nod. Soap inquired curiously, and I simply replied that I was going to my room because I needed to sleep.
I wasn't entirely lying; I did feel exhausted, but what I really wanted was some alone time.
I spotted Ghost standing at my door as I descended the hall to my room. He appeared to be about to knock when he must have heard my footsteps and turned to face me. As I now stood in front of him, I gave him a confused face and said, "Um, hi?"
"How's your head?" He inquired, and his tone was a little harsh; I'm not sure if I took him off guard or not. I muttered, "I haven't heard any complaints yet," beneath my breath, but then I simply stated, "Fine." Prior to turning to leave, he gave me a quick glance before giving me a simple nod.
"Did you want to come in or something?" I asked, reaching out to take hold of his shoulder. He halted in his tracks, but he didn't turn to look at me.
I shifted my hand away from his shoulder while he was still and asked, "Earth to Ghost?"
"I spoke to Price, you're no longer prohibited from being around the team members," he said coldly when he finally spoke up.
"As if I was truly following that order in the first place," I grumbled, rolling my eyes.
