~Y/N's POV~

"Roger that, stay safe," I exhaled impatiently.

Almost immediately, it started to rain, making it harder to hear any footsteps, but at least we could take use of this to try and blend in more with the surroundings. As I lowered the tree, I took off my night vision goggles and let them dangle from my neck.

I realized Ghost was awake and said, "Hey, we need to move."

He already put his gear back on and nodded, "Remain close. They could be nearby."

I assisted him in getting up as we started to walk after he handed me my gun but kept my knife. To make sure we weren't being watched, I kept looking behind us.

"How's your arm?" I questioned as the rain was soaking my clothes.

"Fine. Your head?"

I smirked behind my mask, remembering that time in training when I accidentally bumped my head against his mask and gave the exact response, "Haven't heard any complaints yet."

"Be serious," he glared at me.

I rolled my eyes, "I'll live."

As I grabbed Ghost's arm and tugged him along with me as we huddled behind a tree, I suddenly felt strange, as if we were being watched. I told him in a low voice that we were being followed while keeping my body very close to his.

When I peered over a tree, I noticed some men with flashlights, "Shit. Trackers."

"Our mud tracks are leading them directly to us, we need to wait out the storm." Chills ran down my spine as Ghost whispered in my ear.

I took a quick look around before acting, "Keep them busy for me. I have an idea."

He firmly grasped my arm, "No. We stick together."

I noticed a glimmer of worry in his eyes as I stared at him, "Trust me, please."

He took a little pause before releasing my arm. I nodded and started running. I could snipe the men from a nearby rock; all Ghost had to do was keep them preoccupied.

I looked to the side and noticed one of the men as he tackled me to the ground, who must have gone off from the group. He was going to shout when I swiftly tried to get my gun, but he stomped on my arm instead. "Naive young girl," Smiling down at me, he said. I gave him a sneer before grabbing my backup knife with my other free arm and swinging it directly into his head. I pushed him off of me, and he fell nearly immediately on top of me. My heart was racing as I grabbed my rifle off the ground and continued to run.

I quickly threw my sniper down from my back and peered through the scope to look for Ghost once I arrived at the rock. I observed him silently killing a handful of the soldiers in the trees. When I saw one of the men spot him and point his gun in his direction, my breath caught in my throat. I swiftly fired the trigger and killed him before he could hurt Ghost. I rapidly searched everywhere else to see if there were any other men approaching before shooting the other men as well.

As I asked Ghost to approach me on the radio, I sighed in relief. I got up and rushed up to him as he approached, saying, "Good shot."

I said with a nod, "That's the second time I saved your ass, your welcome."

We kept moving forward and made good progress nearing the vehicle.

That is, until Ghost and I abruptly came to a stop when we noticed a bunch of men nearby who had trucks set up with emergency lights. "Fucking hell," Ghost growled in anger as we laid down on our stomachs on the wet grass.
