~Y/N's POV~

The realization hit me, and I was left alone with my thoughts as I stared at the man laying next to me in a new light.

I was, to be perfectly honest, in denial. I could not possibly have felt this way about this man. I've never felt this way toward somebody, to be more explicit. I was even more horrified of the thought that I cared about the skull-faced asshole so much that I would unquestionably lose my shit if I lost him like I lost my brother. This made me even more afraid to accept my feelings for him.

Could I ever muster the courage to tell him? No, everything would be ruined. Even if he didn't already think I was weak since I essentially cried in his arms or if he hadn't developed a hatred for me after that low moment, he would undoubtedly think I was disgusting if he ever learned how I felt.

I didn't know what to do, so I tried to get away from him in his sleep to go to the kitchen to get my mind off of things. But just as I was about to get away, he drew me even closer.

While I lay there, my mind was racing all over the place, and I sighed. After some time had gone, I attempted to escape his grip one last time, and when I was able to do so, I felt a rush of relief sweep over me.

In order to avoid waking him up, I carefully exited the room while making sure to muffle my footsteps. I went straight to the restroom to splash some cool water on my face, then I went to the kitchen where I saw Gaz munching on some snacks.

"Hey, Y/N."

I simply nodded in return and sat down next to him after getting a cold drink out of the refrigerator. I questioned him because I remembered how angry he had appeared to be earlier in the meeting, "Are you okay?"

He turned his head away from me and added, "Price said Soap and I might have to sit the rest of this mission out, at least until we both recover," already knowing exactly what I was talking about.

"What? Is he insane? I mean, I understand he's looking out for you guys and doesn't want you to get injured any further, but this will be a suicide mission if it's just us three against Hassan and the cartel."

"He's worried Soap and I will slow you all down," Gaz said, nodding.

"Well, we're not even sure if the mission will even be in a week," I shook my head.

Gaz asked me in a confused manner, "What do you mean?" I just said, "I need to talk to you and Soap, come on," after remaining silent.

I got to my feet and turned around to see Gaz still staring at me puzzled. I just motioned for him to follow me, and he did as I asked. We moved toward Soap's bedroom.

As soon as we entered, Soap was sitting up and taking some painkillers, and he cast a troubled glance my way, "Y/N! Why'd you walk off earlier, what happened?"

"I'll explain everything. I just need you and Gaz to hear me out, please," I said this, and Soap and Gaz immediately began to gaze at me very worriedly while remaining silent to show that they were paying close attention.

I heaved a sigh and inhaled deeply before starting to explain to them who I was—Cobra—and how I came to be associated with the cartel, including some information about Toby. They both just stared at me as I didn't go into as much detail as I did with Ghost, but they understood the gist of it. Gaz stared at me with pity, and I could tell that he felt bad for me, while Soap's eyes showed utter rage that I had to experience that.

When I was done, I continued, "I told Ghost earlier. He is currently sleeping, but as soon as he wakes, I will inform Price and we'll have another meeting."
