~Y/N's POV~

After that, I fell asleep almost immediately and had no memory of what warmth I had felt next to me or the noise I had heard before I passed out was.

I felt my heart drop as I awoke after a long nap and discovered that I was no longer in Ghost and I's shared room, but rather the location that I had previously made numerous attempts to leave in the past. The location where I channeled my rage and allowed my need for vengeance to drive me to the point where it cost me all the scars on my shoulder and back.

The location where I finally had him just in reach but let him walk right by.

I was in Mexico.

I was searching for the person who killed my brother, and I was still just a kid. My memory attempted to forget it and blur it out as a result of the trauma response, but I was instead left with even greater trauma. His eyes were fixated on me with utter hunger and enjoyment, and as I caught flashes of his sly grin I instantly felt suffocated.

After I actually woke up from my nap, the rest was a complete blur. Ghost was hovering over me, shaking me, and starring at me with anxious eyes while placing his hand on my arm, "Y/N, snap out of it."

I immediately sat up and tried to swing at Ghost since I hadn't fully realized where I was or that he was in front of me. Ghost gently grasped my wrist and murmured, "You're safe, relax."

"What happened?" I asked him as I still felt like I was in fight or flight mode, my body stiff and my heart racing.

"You had a nightmare," I believe he was simply trying to stop me from freaking out again when he said in a quiet voice, and I just sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose.

"Sorry." I tried to calm myself down as I said in a hushed voice.

I tried to change the subject by asking, "Have you checked on Soap?" He was simply sitting next to me, silently observing me and looking carefully at me.

"He's awake."

I asked him, "Why didn't you wake me up then?" as I immediately rose to my feet.

"He asked not to."

"How about you don't take orders from man that got shot and needs medical attention?" I muttered, glaring at him as I walked toward the door.

I left the room before he could reply and went to Soap's, disregarding the fact that Price and Gaz were having a conversation in the kitchen. I didn't even bother to knock. Instead, I immediately opened the door and said, "Soap!" When I saw that Soap was truly awake and appeared to be feeling better, I smiled.

"Y/N!" He muttered as he struggled to get up.

"Slow your roll, idiot, you'll reopen the wound,"  I swiftly raced up to him and forced him to lay back down.

He looked at me with a babyish pout and said, "But I want to give you a hug," I gave him a side-eye and remarked, "I don't do hugs, MacTavish."

"Hey, come on. Not even when I nearly just died?"

I groaned and gave in since I knew that refusing to hug him would only make him annoy me about it later. "Fine," I replied as he immediately wrapped me into a hug and said, "Thanks for saving my ass, Y/L/N, I owe you big time."
