strong winds brew

waves that splash the boat black and blue

a sun that burns bright even far from the ground

never to be alone and always found

creatures burrow wide and far in the sea

that's the pirate's life for me

Captain tokoyami quoted his mantra as he took in a full breath of fresh sea salt

that was before his mind was interrupted by his crew bellow

never a minute of peace as they grunted and whined as they performed their chores

Captain tokoyami couldn't help but shake his head,

this crew was pitiful

non of them understand the way of the sea or the effort to be one

it was like they were more within the clouds than the sea

Tokoyami could go on about how pitiful he found these bunch of scallywags if not for something alarming to catch his eye

something bobbing and calling out in distress

the anchor was immediately dropped as the crew were taken back by the sudden holt of the ship

"Captain! What's wrong, are we under attack?" one of them asked in worry, some even taking out their swords which were impressive that they knew what to do with them

regardless, tokoyami simply shook his head as he searched for where the noise had come from

eyes slowly locating an orca and its young, the little crying out for help as the adult was suffocating in an enemies nets

with a sneer, tokoyami walked to his boat

"Captain?" another asked as they walked to see their captain strip off his impressive-looking coat to a simple black shirt

"calm yourself you scurvy-filled rag, start preparing the boat as I help these beasts, storms a brewing" Tokoyami instructed

the crew member was hesitant but did as told

"ugh, when captain scaro's captain died he got the underworld of the crew, and here I get the clowns of the sea" Tokoyami grumbled

filled with lazy cowering dummies that were clearly only here for the gold, not having the true heart of a pirate, he told his old captain the same before his passing when he was first picked up, not that he listened, and now he had to continue picking up their slack

regardless he re-directed his focus onto more pressing manners

jumping into the water as he swam close to the distressed sea beasts

"Easy now, I'm not here to hurt ya" Tokoyami eased as he waved within the water, showing the knife before going straight into cutting the ropes

the baby whined as it tried biting him, but tokoyami merely chuckled at the pinches, the mother keeping still, but the raven head could feel the eyes staring into his soul

"one more knot" tokoyami assured as he picked at the last part of the net

and as told, with one more pull the orca was free

"there you go beautiful" tokoyami stated as he rubbed some of his animal healing creams to ensure the older would continue to recover

the two whirred as a thankyou before continuing on their journey
