(Warning, very cringy bird jokes)

The day of the talent show had finally arrived, and Class 1-A was buzzing with excitement. Nearly everyone had entered to compete for the prizes: Uraraka had a dance routine prepared, Kirishima and Bakugo had teamed up for a dramatic drumming performance, and Midoriya was nervously pacing, organising a complex martial arts demonstration. But one entry had everyone especially curious: Tokoyami, the brooding, quiet hero-in-training, had signed up for comedy.

And it was all thanks to the Hawks.

Hawks had discovered Tokoyami's secret talent during their internship, when Tokoyami, usually so serious, had cracked an unexpectedly hilarious story about an unfortunate run-in with Dark Shadow in the middle of the night. Hawks had nearly doubled over with laughter and had been encouraging Tokoyami to try comedy ever since. After some gentle pushing and a lot of pep talks, Tokoyami agreed to enter the talent show.

As he waited backstage, Tokoyami felt his nerves creeping up, feathers fluffed with tension. He glanced over at Hawks, who gave him an encouraging wink and a thumbs-up.

"I... I don't know if I can do this, Hawks," he muttered, feathers ruffling with nerves, eyeballing the exit ready to pounce at any moment.

Hawks just grinned as he blocked the exit with his wings, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Hey, you're gonna be fine, baby bird. You're going to nail it, just like all the times you've done before. You've got the whole comedy world right under your wing." Hawks encouraged proudly before gently pushing him onto the stage, the spotlight is bright on his fathered face.

As Tokoyami stood on the stage, the spotlight bright on his face, he could feel his heart pounding like a woodpecker against his ribs. Class 1-A was cheering him on from the audience, and Hawks stood off to the side with his ever-present and encouraging thumbs-up. But Tokoyami felt anything but ready.

Tokoyami took a deep breath, gripping the mic. "I... I'm feeling a bit... uh... pigeony out here."

The audience chuckled supportive, and Tokoyami glanced over to see Hawks grinning like a proud parent. He could do this.

"So, I published a book about birds recently..." He paused, his beak turning into a slight smirk. "It flew off the shelves."

A wave of laughter erupted from his classmates. Kaminari practically spat out his drink, and Kirishima gave him a thumbs-up from the crowd.

"That's right. I know, shocking that someone with wings would talk about birds, but what can I say? It's a... tweet thing we do."

Even Bakugo was cracking a smile, though he tried to hide it with a scoff. Tokoyami took that as a win.

Dark Shadow, perched beside him, piped up. "Tokoyami's got a whole flock of jokes, folks!"

Tokoyami shot him a look. "Dark Shadow, could you not wing it for once?"

Dark Shadow just shrugged. "What? I'm just helping feather your set with laughs!"

The audience roared, and Tokoyami couldn't help but relax. With each joke, his confidence grew.

"So, why did the raven break up with the crow?" he asked, leaning in as if it was some dark secret.

"Because he... wanted to branch out!"

By now, the whole audience was in stitches. Even Todoroki looked amused, which was a rare sight. Hawks was clapping proudly, mouthing, "I told you!"

As Tokoyami wrapped up his set, he finished with a dramatic bow. "Thank you! This has been your feathered friend, Tokoyami. Remember, keep the laughter soaring!"

He strutted off the stage to thunderous applause and, when he joined his friends, Hawks slapped him on the back.

"You did it, man! You killed it up there," Hawks laughed, throwing an arm around him.

Tokoyami couldn't help but feel a swell of pride. "Thanks... I guess I'm a natural at winging it."

And with that, the whole class erupted into groans and laughter, grateful for Tokoyami's unexpectedly talon-ted comedy.
