"I can almost see it. . . so, that's where the assassins' base is?"
The hills in the distance were massive -- colored a dusty grey as smoke bellowed from the very top. Reaching above the few clouds in the sky, it truly was a sight to behold.
". . . it looks kind of creepy, doesn't it?"
M/N let out a small laugh at Leorio's worry, looking toward the volcano with unending interest. The closer they got, the more his hands began shaking in anticipation. Though, it was hard to tell if it was from excitement or fear.
"It does. Once we arrive, we should gather information." Kurapika said, turning towards Leorio for confirmation.
Prying his eyes from the sight, Leorio gave a slight nod. "Okay."
"but why?" M/N's voice was unusually soft as he blinked for a moment. "i can tell you guys h - how to get there just fine."
"Yes, but it's also useful to hear from the locals. Things might have changed from the time you came here. Or, there might be information you don't know."
". . . oh. i guess you're right."
M/N turned to face the mountain quietly, curiosity painting his expression once more. Kurapika let his face rest into a soft, neutral expression as he did the same, crossing one leg over the other in an effort to get comfortable.
A comforting silence fell upon the group -- with the only sound being the soft rattles of the train. Every click of the wheels made their train car jump ever so slightly.
Poking his head out of the window, Gon gave a small grin feeling the wind brush against his face. M/N joined him after a while, leaning against the windowsill with a tired smile. The two seemed to be enjoying the ride the most out of everyone.
As the dormant volcano slowly came out of view, hiding behind a lush green hill instead, Leorio's calm expression slowly shifted to one of concern. He furrowed his brows for a moment before turning to M/N with pursed lips.
