"WHY DIDN'T YOU MESSAGE ME?"

M/N pulled his phone away from his ear and winced.

The group had just arrived at Dolle Harbor — and this was a less-than-lovely wake-up call. Literally.

Gon had taken it upon himself to thank the captain near the dock while the other three had started walking around the harbor. They had all met up at a map to see where they could head next when M/N's phone began ringing.

And now everyone was just staring at M/N as he was getting scolded over the phone.

"I — uhm. I. . . forgot?" M/N stammered, silently cursing as he realized how disingenuous he sounded.

On the other side of the phone, Elias massaged his temples and let out a small sigh in slight annoyance. "What? What do you mean you 'forgot'? How could you possibly forget? It was one simple rule I gave you when you left and that was to message me when you could!"

He wasn't mad — just disappointed.

"-- you never told me that!" M/N snapped back, furrowing his brows slightly.

"It was an unspoken rule, M/N. An unspoken rule. Why else would I get us these phones? For sightseeing?"

M/N let out a small huff as he tried to think of some sort of excuse. He really couldn't tell Elias anything that happened on the ship without risking Elias freaking out, and lying wasn't a pleasant option — so he had nothing.

". . . yeah, okay. I've got no excuses." He sighed, letting his head tilt down in defeat as he frowned, "But, I really didn't expect to worry that much about me. It was just a boat ride. . ."

That was bullshit and M/N knew it.

The trio glanced over at him, visibly confused by the deceiving words. M/N simply shushed them with a finger to his lips and shook his head rapidly. Reluctantly, the three turned back to the map.

"Oh! Oh no, believe me. I wasn't worried about you." Elias said bluntly, letting out a small chuckle that rang through the speaker. Perhaps a little too bluntly, because M/N immediately glared at the phone.
