The Blood War Chapter five, Ceilings ————————
-1919 Birmingham, England
Milly walked into the Garrison the next day to see it was empty. "Hey" Paige said, putting two glasses on the bar. "Hey, what's the glasses for?" Millicent asked. "Me and you. Apparently the Garrison is closed today" Paige said. "Hm, Grace said she was coming down here today" Millicent said.
Why would her sister lie to her?
"Maybe she went back home? Do you want a drink or not?" Paige asked. "Obviously I want a drink" Millicent said, taking off her coat and putting it on the stand. "How's Tara?" Millicent asked, sitting at the bar. "Sore" Paige said. "Have you made any progress with Arthur?" Millicent asked, taking a sip off the whiskey.
"Nope, but I think you're right" Paige said. "Oh Paige sweetie, I'm always right" Millicent joked. "I want to ask him but if he doesn't I'd look like a retard" Paige said. "Take him out, go to the theatre or something, I don't know" Millicent said. "What's his favourite colour?" Paige asked.
"Why is that important?" Millicent asked. "Just what is it?" Paige asked. "Midnight blue" Millicent said. "Because, I'm planning on wearing his favourite colour. If he comes tonight" Paige said. "Smart" Millicent said. "Cheers to that" Paige said, holding up her glass. Millicent clinks it and they took a shot.
"Milly, there you are" Arthur said. Paige almost spat the drink back into the cup. "Hey" Millicent said. "Tommy wants to see you" Arthur said. Paige smirked and Millicent hit her shoulder. "Where is he?" Millicent asked. "Down at the house" Arthur said. "Thanks" Millicent said. She got her coat and left.
"Arthur" Paige said before Arthur reached for the door handle. "Yeah?" Arthur asked. "You doing anything tonight?" Paige asked. "Yeah actually. John's getting married today so we'll be busy all day. Why?" Arthur asked. "Oh, I was just going to ask if you wanted to do something later" Paige said. "You can come to the wedding if you want"Arthur said. "Okay" Paige said with a happy expression.
"What time is it at?" Paige asked. "Three" Arthur said. "See you then" Paige said. "I'll come and get you" Arthur said. "Okay" Paige said. "See you then" Arthur said with a wink.
Milly walked to the Shelby house, "You requested to see me" Milly said, leaning up against the office door frame. "Hey" Tommy said, taking off his glasses. "You wear glasses?" Milly asked, raising and eyebrow. "Only to read" Tommy said. "So, why did you want to see me?" Milly asked.
"I wanted to ask you if you'd accompany me to John's wedding?" Tommy asked. "Sounds like fun and I have nothing else to do today" Milly said. "And why's that?" Tommy asked. "The Garrison's closed" Milly said. "Forgot to tell you that yesterday" Tommy said with a smirk. "We'll i'd better get going but I'll see you later" Milly said, giving Tommy's cheek a kiss.
