Night Under The Stars (Sanders Sides)

All their lives, Roman and Logan had been best friends. They'd done everything together growing up, despite the fact that they were complete opposites. Roman loved acting and music,  he wanted to be on Broadway, wanted to see the world. Roman was extroverted, he loved people,  and had a social battery that never drained.  Roman had both of his parents, and a brother,  and his family loved each other. Roman had a smile that could light up the night sky with how bright it was.

Logan was nothing like that. Logan loved science and numbers,  wanting nothing more than to be a chemical engineer, he wanted to learn and help people. Logan hated people, and preferred to stay indoors. Almost everyone disliked him anyways. Even just small talk drained him for the rest of the day,  making him never want to speak to another human again.  Logan had a dad who couldn't keep his hands to himself, and a mom who would rather get high than take care of her child, and they lived so far apart it wasn't like he'd see her anyway.  Logan had deep obsidian eyes that were as sad as rain, but lit up the moment Roman walked into the room.

But they each held a love for the stars.  The stars that Logan could name from the top of his head,  and the stars that had given Roman so much inspiration.  The constellations that they would take turns mapping into the late evening hours. Despite their differences, they could always connect through the stars.

Once, Roman had convinced Logan to go to a party with him. And, unsurprisingly, Logan had found himself unable to say no to that pearly white smile. So they'd gone.

And Logan found that he was genuinely having fun. The whole night,  Roman never left his side. They danced and they talked, even taking breaks when Logan started to get unconfortable. And by the end of the night, they were in Romans backyard, laughing and talking, and staring at the stars.  This was when both boys realized; they were in love.
