Basically the way I see this one going is like, a college AU. Roman having to go to the store for something, and deciding to take a new route back to the apartment he'd share with the others. (Maybe Janus could be Patton's little brother or something so Remus has a friend at some point- if not though, all of the sides share an apartment besides Remus) Roman would see Remus and kinda put two and two together and call 911, and probably one of the others. The parents are arrested and Roman gets custody of Remus, and there could even be angst where Roman is scared to mess up and hurt Remus like their parents hurt them.
