Chapter Twenty: I love you

          You walk into the wreck room heading straight to the stereo. You turn it onto your playlist. So few people listen to the music over the speakers so you pretty much had full control of it. You flip on (fav workout/get pumped playlist) and close your eyes counting down from 10. You slowly open your eyes and turn around staring at a smirking Katsuki. You flash him a small smile and go to the obstacle course. You were still really bad at controlling light speed. So you figured you'd work on timing it better so you could move more fluidly as Ectoplasm said. You technically weren't supposed to use your quirk outside of training exercises but you'd thrown that out the window long ago. Luckily you had a quirk that was easy to conceal. Especially because drawing electricity from the buildings of the school didn't make the lights flicker since it ran off such a huge power station. You activate your quirk drawing in as much electricity as you could. You charge the optical course trying to deactivate and reactivate your quirk as you approached the wall. You jumped and missed the top topping over it onto the mat on the other side. You huff out glaring at the ceiling before getting back up.

         Katsuki walks up to you and snickers softly. His hands were shoved in his pockets, a smug look on his face.

"Why not just keep your quirk activated?"

"It's not so simple. When I use lighting speed I can only project in a straight line like lightning. So changing my trajectory doesn't work like that. Ecloplasm said to be more fluid but lighting isn't fluid, it's sharp, quick, and jagged. So I need to figure out how to anticipate what I'll do before I do it. Problem is, lightning is unpredictable, and unfortunately that applies to my quirk at well."

"Control your body the way you controlled that lightning bolt earlier. Stop thinking of your quirk as something that controls you."

You hop back over the wall and turn around to face it again. You imagine shooting over to the wall and quickly moving up and then back down. Tell your body what to do, don't move with the lightning, control it. You let out your breath and activate your quirk moving over to the wall, you deactivate your quirk and reactivate it moving your body into the air. Deactivate it again and before you fall reactivate it landing back on the ground. You snicker excitedly and jump back on top of the wall looking down at Kasuki.

"I did it!"

He shoots you a small smile before walking up to the wall; gazing at you from below.

"You know Denki has nothing on your quirk."

"I think we have different variations of the same quirk. His is cool because he can create his lightning. If I'm not anywhere near a power source I'm useless. On top of that, he can take in a lot more power than I can. He's a badass-."

You close your mouth realizing you just started to sound like Midoryia. You let out a snort falling off the wall onto the mat laughing. Katsuki vaults the wall landing on the other side. He looks down at you smiling.

"What's so funny?"

"I guess we all admire someone."

"You admire Denki?"

"He's a cool guy, lots of good qualities. He's kind, thoughtful, patient, and honestly the best friend I've ever had."

Katsuki's look shifts to irritation as he walks past you. You sit up narrowing your eyes at his back. You activate your quirk and tackle him onto the mat. You bust up laughing as he huffs at you sitting on him. You lean over him whispering in his ear.

"I win."

"As if!"

He activates his quirk pushing himself up. You jump off him doing a backhand spring and landing on your feet. You smirk at him as he gets into his fighting stance. That cocky smile crawls over his face as excitement flashes in his eyes.

"Loser tells the other something they've never admitted to anyone."

You snicker feeling the confidence fill you up.

"Bet."

You charge him fainting to throw a punch and dive roll over him as he drops low to avoid the punch. You watch his back as you fall and activate your quirk projecting your body into the air as he tries to hit you. He sneers at you as he backs up slightly.

"Playing chicken?"

"Why down you come up here and find out."

You project yourself up into the rafters of the roof hanging off it by your legs. He smirks and activates his quirk and flies at you so quickly that you almost don't react in time. You release your legs dropping and shooting past him trying to hit his stomach. He manages to block and grabs your arm throwing you to the ground. You grit your teeth as you hit the mat getting the wind knocked out of you. You get back on your feet and brace as he comes flying down at you. You time it correctly and step to the side just before he hits you. You throw your leg kicking him in the side. Smacking him out of the air and onto the mat. You shoot at him before he can think and kick his arms that were braced over his chest. He grunts softly but doesn't budge as your leg makes contact. He swipes your leg out of the air yanking you down to the floor pinning you beneath him.

"You try to shock me and I'll blow your ass up. Admit defeat."

You snicker at him as he keeps your arms pinned.

"Would you?"

His eyes narrow but you move before he can figure out what you're planning. You activate your quirk sending you both into the wall. Katsuki lets go and you quickly deactivate then reactivate your quirk shooting back at him. You kick him in the stomach knocking the wind out of him and grabbing his arm shocking him. He grits his teeth as his body tenses slightly. You make sure not to shock him too much, just enough to freeze up his muscles. You snicker thinking you'd won but he picked up his head getting you square in the face. You grunt slightly letting him go which he takes advantage of. He tackles you and gets you in a headlock tightening his arm slightly.

"Admit defeat."

You cough slightly as he cuts off your air holding you firmly. You hit the mat signaling that you gave up. He sneers in your ear as he lets go of your throat.

"I win."

You pull away rubbing your neck and glaring at him. He smirks at you as he sits on the mat leaning back on his hands.

"You use your quirk better now. Your movements are hard to follow because they seem to lack patterns. But it's clear you know what you're doing."

You sit up smiling excitedly at yourself. Never in the history of ever has he given you a compliment. The fact that he was saying that meant you really were getting better.

"I'll beat you one day."

"Get in line."

He laughs lightly as he lets down his guard. You smile at him falling on your back.

"So what's your secret y/n?"

You let out a soft sigh and look over at him blushing.

"I love you Katsuki Bakugou, I really really do."
