This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, business, events and incidents are the products of the author's imagination. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental.
This novel is democratically inspired, but not based on, the Martial Law during Ferdinand Marcos Sr. regime, and the author may have used the name of an actual university in the country, the locations and cities, and the name of the nation itself, this does not implicate that the occurrences in this novel had happened in real life.
As for the name of the University of the Philippines, the author respect and admire the prestigiousness and ideology of the institution, but will not go to the extent of using the actual department names as well as organizations, professors and university personnel, and more importantly the events that had existed within the campus; limiting to making use of the name and visualizations only as an inspiration.
Again, this is not based on the history of the Philippines to give respect to the actual victims and honor to those who fought for the nation. The author wishes to not meddle with our country's history to avoid such revisionisms. Instead, those were just used as an inspiration to produce an eye-opening novel which serves the purpose of being the voice of the oppressed, silenced, silent, enslaved by the government, those whose liberation was took away from them, the freedom of speech and democracy we shall not forget, and the nation itself.
Thank you and enjoy the rest of your readings.
