Chapter 12

All four men went for their weapons as the loud voice scared many birds happily resting in the trees.

"Qing-Jie" Wei Wuxian's small voice was heard as a short woman in white and red sun pattern clothes came out of the forest trailing behind her a timid-looking young man with a bow and arrow.

"Wei Wuxian?? What are you doing here? You better not have another outrageous request!! What.... The hell??? What??" the woman stammered staring at the second set of men who looked older

"Wen Qing... I can explain... um... you see they are us like me and Lan Zhan... no wait Lan Zhan and I... they ...um...." Wei Ying looked around at their future-self hoping they would pick the rest

"Lady Wen, this one is Lan Zhan courtesy Wangji and this is my husband Wei Ying courtesy Wuxian. A few days ago, we along with several of our friends and family accidentally arrived here via a time travel spell mishap during a night hunt. We decided that we want to help many of our friends that suffered many unjust when the Wen clan fell and the SunShot campaign came to an end. In order to do so we need your help, we want to give everyone a better chance to change their fates." Lan Wangji said as he greeted Wen Qing

"You mean you and him and a bunch of people came from the future to change our future your past which you don't like?? Why should I help you all?? Just because you don't like it?" Wen Qing asked suspicious of the newcomers

"Qing-Jie... I know we don't know each other that well but we do want to help... I want to help you and your family... our time I failed soo badly... I... Jie... I messed up... I'm sorry" Wei Wuxian began crying

"Jei... we should at least listen to them... young master Wei has no reason to harm us'' Wen Ning said gently

"fine... come but one wrong step anyone of you and I'll turn you into a pincushion" she warned them, while the Lans looked a bit concerned, Wei Wuxian smiled at the fond memories of his second found sister and Wei Ying simply nodded.

Walking to the village both men from the future were reminded of the people they failed to protect, the family that took care of them and welcomed them, showed them a new type of family, one they wanted their son to grow in. They reached a small hut

"OK! now tell us what do you want?" Wen Qing asked

"We want to help you, give you a better chance to live once the war is over. In our time once the war is over the Jins began to raise trying to be the new powerholders. They succeed, I mean they didn't even bother helping till they were sure we were going to win and all. Later they began to kill anyone just for having the name "Wen". I found out about it one day when I bumped into you, you told me about it and I helped you escape with your family" Wei Ying said looking down casted

"But... soo many of your family was already dead, Wen Ning too was... I .... I" he couldn't finish so Lan Wangji took over

"Many of your family was brutally killed already but the ones that could be saved Wei Ying took with him, hid them in the Burial Mounds... you made it your home, for better or worst you were happy there for a while but Jins didn't back away... they came up with a new plan one that killed their heir and second heir, put the blame on Wei Ying... soon a sleigh happened and lady Jiang lost her life, again Wei Ying was blamed even if it she who ran on to a battlefield with no armor or sword practice...

(I still can't get why she did that. I mean if I lost my husband and I already had a son who's only a few days old, my first thing and most priority would be the child... I really don't get why she ran onto the battlefield...that too when she KNOWS better than anyone, she can't fight... just wondering if she thought giving soup to everyone will make them see sense or bring back all the innocents that died? The story isn't bashing the Jiangs, (even if I personally hate all 4 of them) but seriously that part I always wondered why and how she got there... I mean Koi tower isn't a tiny distance away from Never-Night so how did she get there is something I'm curious to know, even in the end Jin Guangyao never said HE BROUGHT HER TO NEVER NIGHT that day... So what happened?? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️)
