Chapter 18

Nei quarters

"You're going to learn like him the minute the war is over do you hear me?? Nei Huaisang!! get back here!!!" the loud voice of Nei Mingjue rang across the training grounds of the unclean realm as he saw the older version of his younger brother do a series of moves with his fans 

"But I don't want to!! Plus, the war isn't over yet so you can't make do anything right now!!" the younger Nei said as he darts away from his brother

'why the hell are you out right now? don't you know just how hard is it to make Da-ge look away a minute so that I don't have to be here!!!' the younger thought annoyingly 

"Da-ge let him be I know as he is me... I know he will learn soon! Give him a break and come... let's have a talk" the older and much calmer voice of the older Nei Huaisang came towards the past pair.  

"Hmm.. let's go!"

As the trio walked towards the sect leader's room the older man couldn't help but look at his brothers... both of them were the same little brother he gave up soo many to raise alone but in the end, he couldn't even protect them from his own anger

'A-Sang, this brother has made you suffer so much... now give me the chance to fix them all. Thank you whoever up there gave you this chance, I won't let you down... my brother will not know or feel the pain his older self suffered. You have my word' the older thought

Reaching the sect leader's room, the trio sat in awkward silence for a bit

"OK, now let's get to work!" the older Nei Huaisang said

"How can we help? We know so far that even with the war ending there will still be too much trouble for us thanks to the Jin. So what can we change?" Nei Huaisang asked

"Simple, first thing is we must ensure Jin will not rise to power! That part will be easy so far he's been sending er-ge messages and he's been sending one to confirm he got them, the older er-ge must have told the younger to stop it, now he must be confused so he'll try to end the information to hoping it might help that pig sees his worth... that's fine let it happen it will help us till Wen Qing gets in place, then we follow her information, Jin Guangshan can do whatever he wants with his" the older Nei spoke

"What I don't get is for all Meng Yao's brains why does he think he needs to prove to that man? I mean come on even the poorest pheasant knows that man's 'work'" the younger Nei Huaisang wondered

"Who knows what he's thinking, Huaisang for now let's worry about this war," Nei Mingjue said

"The others are working on having some of their clan's ideas changed but really for us we don't need much structural change, we just need to find a way to get our sabers safe thus making sure we don't suffer a Qi Deviate later in our lives," Nei Huaisang said

"Ok, but that's after war things for now what about war things? Any moves? Any locations we need to keep an eye out for?" Nei Mingjue asked

"No... but the saber thing is more important too... in our time Wei-Xiong found a way to out the violent energy, it was a safer and more effective way than playing clarity, not that it's not helping but it's a temporary fix this became a more permeant way and the best thing is Wei-Xiong managed to teach it to a group of healers in the clan that are now specialized in dealing with it. They helped him with and also learned how to do it, thus now we have less and fewer anger issues and no more gloomy ancestral graves" Nei Huaisang said

"Can Wei Wuxian help da-ge, too?? Like right now? As much I can see you I mean me can be a good sect leader I rather have brother do it and not me" the younger Nei brother said pulling his fan to his face

"Hmm, not your time one but our one can!! give him a day and boom all done... just do one thing though have Lan Wangji close by... if something would go off and even a hair of Wei Wuxian's is out of place... ohh not even heaven will look out for you... Lans are hell scary when they want to be... this is both first- and second-hand experiences I'm telling you both" the older Nei said thinking back to all the times Lan Wangji has been terrifying when something bad happen to Wei Wuxian, even if some of them due the man is question been too nice or protective  

"Hauisang, I need to know in your time how did Xicheng in your time handle my death. Like when the real reason came out?" Nei Mingjue asked

"Hmm it was awful... he couldn't cope with it first, Wangji-Xiong took control of the sect for about a year and a half before Wei-Xiong dragged Er-ge out... of seclusion... even then he was in horrible shape, he got nightmares, didn't eat right, kept losing track of things... it was awful Da-ge... he finally got some sense after getting into a huge fight with Jiang-Xiong... I don't know what they were arguing about but whatever it was it was enough for him to snap out and start being normal, these days he's ok... so you don't have to worry about him, if we all do right then no one will have to suffer...

'The ones that will suffer are the ones who will deserve it, I will not let that snake hurt anyone in my family again, this is my promise' the older Nei younger brother thought

... we just need to make sure all is well" the man said

"Ok then, come on... let's head out," the younger Nei brother said

"you two go ahead I'm going to meet Xicheng for a minute or so," Nei Mingjue said and walked away

"You know what Er-ge and Jiang-Xiong talked about don't you?" the younger Nei Huaisang asked

"Mn... sometime it helps to talk to another person that lost their first love, they talk about it, I guess their shared grief gave them the chance to see the light," the older said walking away
