Later that week we found out that Blair was put in jail. She was charged with Lisa's murder. Turns out Blair wasn't her adopted sister, she was her long lost cousin. Lisa's family had cut off all communication with Blair's family. Lisa had just started to get to know Blair, but Blair murdered her.

So Blair was going to be in jail, and Baltimore was finally going to be safe again.

Taylor and Jeremy were over, and we all cooked dinner together. We had a ton of food in our tiny kitchen. We sat on all the couches around the TV, and ate.

Hayley and I decided we needed a little time apart from everyone. We put on our shoes, and the snuck outside. I held her hand so tight as we walked along in the dark. She leaned her head against my shoulder.

"Do you wanna talk about Blair now," she asked. I sighed and looked down at our feet.

"Not really, but I probably should," I said. Hayley moved her free hand to the inside of my elbow. She was holding onto me completely.

"Why the hell would she try to kill you," Hayley said fiercely. She rarely ever cussed, and I could tell she needed to talk about this too. My life wasn't just affecting me anymore, it also affected Hayley.

"I don't know. Maybe there's something wrong in her brain," I said. Hayley sighed heavily, and looked down.

"I'm sorry I'm acting this way. I just, I love you so much. You almost drowned! Like, I can't even wrap my brain around what almost happened," she ranted. I felt like there was something I needed to do.

"Hayley, it's okay. I'm fine, and she's in jail," I stopped walking, and she slowed. She turned around to face me, and gave me a weird look.

"What are you doing," she asked. She knew something was up. I didn't really know what I was doing. I just felt like it was right.

I took Hayley's hand, and got down on one knee. This isn't exactly how I thought I'd ever propose to anyone. I thought it'd be somewhere fancy, where we'd be dressed up in the finest clothes. But this was right for us.

"Hayley Nichole Williams, will you marry me," I asked. With the hand I wasn't holding, Hayley covered her mouth.

"Yes, of course," she yelled. I stood up, and she hugged me. Neither of us really meant to, but we started crying. We looked at each other, and started laughing. I pulled her into another hug.

"I'm sorry I don't have a ring," I said. Hayley shook her head, and wiped my cheeks.

"I don't care. I don't care if I never get a ring," she said, and then kissed me.

We walked back home, and I had my arm around her the whole time. I opened the door for her when we got back, and I let her go in first. She stood in the front of the TV, and turned it off. There were a few groans and complaints from the other guys.

Hayley took my hand as I walked over.

"Guys," Hayley started. She paused for dramatic effect. "We're engaged!"

There were mumbles of excitement and congratulations. I mainly looked at Jack. He looked the most concerned with the matter.

Hayley sat down between Taylor and Jeremy to talk, and Jack stood up. "Can we talk...upstairs," he said. I nodded, and started upstairs. he followed behind me.

"What does she mean 'you're engaged?' I know you didn't just ask that girl to marry you," Jack spoke. His face got red as he said those things, and it made me feel bad.

"I did..." I said sheepishly. Jack ran his hands through his hair frantically. He looked from side to side, and then down the stairs. He pulled me into my room.

"Next thing you know, Hayley's gonna be pregnant. What the fuck were you thinking," he screamed. I shook my head and sat on the bed. I crossed my arms over my chest.

"That's not what this relationship is like!" I yelled back.

"How many times did Lisa have a pregnancy scare? Huh? Too many to count," he yelled. I rubbed my eyes with the palms of my hands.

"I can't believe I'm arguing about this with you. It feels like you've never even met Hayley. And why the ever-living fuck did you bring Lisa into this," I screamed.

There was a knock on the door frame, and we both turned our heads to look. Hayley stood there.

"I'm sorry to interrupt, but someone's at the door," she said softly. Jack rolled his eyes.

"Have Rian or Zack get it," Jack snapped. Hayley folded her arms over her chest and looked at me.

"She's asking for you, Alex," she snapped. I quickly stood up, and rushed out of the bedroom. I walked down the stairs and thought about all the girls I knew. If I included girls from high school, there were a lot. None of them were really friends, though.

Hayley followed me all the way to the door. I saw standing in the doorway, a very familiar brown-haired girl.

"Tay? What are you..." I said in a confused voice. The girl threw herself onto me in a big hug. I could feel Hayley's jealousy.

"Alex Gaskarth, wow!" Tay said as she took a step back and looked at me.

"Tay Jardine... what are you doing here," I asked.

"I called her," said Jack. We all looked up at the stairs. He started down with a big, devious smile on his face. He gave Tay a hug, and then guided her to the kitchen and offered her a drink.

Hayley gave me a look, but I shrugged my shoulders. We were both thinking the same thing: What the hell was Jack doing?
