1 day left

Lan Wangji awoke feeling his back ache at his weird sleeping angle. It took him a minute to realize where he was and what had happened the night before. Last night had been going great he got to kiss and touch Wei Wuxian. He had been given a courting gift from his lover and Wei Wuxian's sister was ok with their relationship. Everything was great until young master Nie crashed in on his conversation with Lan Xichen. He would have reminded the boy of all the rules he had just broken had said boy not flung himself at him begging him for help.

Xichen and Wangji rapidly followed a desperate Nie heir to the river where Wei Wuxian lay immobile. Panic rose in Lan Wangji as he took in the purple bruising around his lover's neck. Lan Xichen understanding the panic told Lan Wangji to get Wei Wuxian somewhere safe with Nie Huasang. Then the Nie heir was to explain to Wangji and Xichen what exactly had happened.

Thinking of Wei Wuxian's safety Lan Wangji carefully cradled the boy in his arms and took off with Nie Huasang following. He thought hard about where to go his safe place was the cold cave but that would not be a good place for his love. Wen Li crossed his mind as the place where Wei Wuxian would feel safe. She was his family and mentor.

With that in mind, he hurried to the woman's home. Once there he kicked the door open startling her. Her sharp eyes analyzed the situation and ushered them in to use one of the rooms in her house to lay Wei Wuxian down. She wrapped both Lan Wangji and Nie Huasang in a hug until they stopped trembling. Like a mother comforting her children after a nightmare.

Lan Wangji finally felt a little calmer as she began treating Wei Wuxian's wound. He thought about what the next step he should take. They would have to tell his brother what had happened and inform Jiang Yanli. With determination kicking in, he asked Wen Li to watch over him for a bit and asked if she minded a bit more company. She just smiled and petted his head affectionately while shaking her head.

She turned back to Wei Wuxian while Lan Wangji spoke to Nie Huasang. "Nie Huasang go get Jiang Yanli and Wei Ying's things. I will get brother. We will meet by the river and head here to know what happened with Wei Ying. " The boy nodded physically steeling himself and left followed by a very reluctant Lan Wangji.

He made sure he wasn't seen as he made his way to the Hanshi to find Lan Xichen. The older boy had wasted no time and greeted Lan Wangji while holding a bunch of medical supplies. "Wangji young master Wei is your mate is he not?" Lan Wangji nodded at him slowly. "Xiongzhang come." Lan Xichen smiled at his didi's lack of fluency with words and followed along back to the river they had found Wei Wuxian by.

It took ten more minutes of Lan Wangji pacing around the clearing impatiently under Lan Xichen's amused stare. Then Nie Huasang and Jiang Yanli showed up with grim faces. Wanting to get back to his beloved swiftly Lan Wangji led the way in silence. The others followed just as silently processing the severity of the situation. Wei Wuxian who seemed to be invincible to the world was hurt and maybe almost killed.

They made it back to Wen Li's house and were surprised to see another man who looked exactly like Lan Wangji there. The others only dropped their guard when Lan Wangji greeted the man and lady respectfully. "Elder Lan Junjie, Elder Wen Li" The woman led them all to the table explaining how she had sent Lan Junjie a message to help make a healing barrier for Wei Wuxian. He also wanted to know what happened to his student.

They all sat down and Nie Huasang explained what he had walked into in Wei Wuxian's room. Jiang Yanli was crying but her fists were clenched in fury. Lan Xichen surprised her by placing his hand on top of hers to calm her down. Nie Huasang then took out a Qiankun bag and sadly emptied it on the floor showing all of Wei Wuxian's possessions broken, torn, or damaged even his robes were of no use.
