Chapter 16*Revised*

* I have never written a sex scene before but tried my best.

          Lan Yi quickly diverted the moment reminding everyone that this was a wedding. There was no reason to worry the children about their possible futures at that moment. The family members quickly sat down in their respective seats so the grooms could perform the tea ceremony.  Baoshan Sanren, Wen Li, and Jiang Yanli represented Wei Wuxian's family. Lan Wangji was graceful and efficient as he made tea for his lover's family. They welcomed him to their family with a smile and kind words. 

        Wei Wuxian was nervous as he stared at the table with Lan Wangji's family. He shakily but carefully made tea for Lan Yi, Qingheng-Jun, and Lan Xichen. They welcomed him with a small smile and knowing eyes. Finally, they all sat at the huge table and ate together, forgoing the no-talking rule for the day. After all, it wasn't every day they held a secret wedding in the cold cave blessed by the gods.

            As they were finishing, Baoshan brought up the topic again. It was decided that the boys would go have their wedding night worry-free. They all would leave with her the next day. The young ones were all skeptical about the need to go away from everyone to train. They conceded that the room of immortals probably knew more than them. The adults spoke of who would be in charge of each of their training. It was decided that the step of presenting Wei Wuxian's family tablets to the Lan ancestral hall could wait till they returned. Nie Huasang and Jiang Yanli would not be forced away by their families if they left for training right away. 

            After many congratulations, Wei Wuxian was led away by Wen Li. "Grandma, where are we going? I don't think we can go to Lan Zhan's house right now Lan Qiren will find us." Wen Li just smiled with a mischievous sparkle in her eye. Her smile was still sweet as sugar, showing none of the playfulness her eyes expressed. It was the comforting smile of a mother reassuring her troubled son. They walked in silence to avoid getting caught by all the searching disciples. 

            It wasn't long before Wei Wuxian realized he recognized the path they were on. He figured he was overthinking until his suspicions were confirmed. They were in front of the highly fortified house of Lan Junjie. " Wait, what are we doing here?" Wen Li laughed at his bewildered expression. " A-Ying, you and A-Zhan will be staying here for your wedding night, while Lan Junjie will be staying at my house." 

             Wei Wuxian stared at her blankly before he gave her a mischievous grin of his own. "Grandma, are you using my marriage to get closer to the handsome Lan?!?! I didn't know you had it in you. Wow...... You get your sexy Lan! Grandma, make him bow to your charms!" 

             Wen Li just sputtered with wide eyes at her great-grandchild. " A-ying, I think you have been reading too many romance novels. What would your husband say if he found out you called another man sexy?" He just shrugged, looking at her intently. "He looks like Lan Zhan I am allowed to find my husband sexy... Still, you didn't deny you were attracted to him. Is he your phoenix chosen mate?" She shook her head, leading him into the house, which was decorated fully in reds and gold. Wen Li refused to have this sort of conversation with her grandson of all people. It was very embarrassing.

             He sat impatiently on the marriage bed that was built for them in the second bedroom. Before Wen Li left, he couldn't help but speak up again. " Grandma, I just want you to be happy. Both of you have been alone for such a long time, from before my father was born. Wouldn't your lovers hope you find happiness again without forgetting about them? I mean, I know I would hope for Lan Zhan's happiness if anything happened to me." 

             She breathed deeply without knowing how to reply to her grandson's earnest words. Thoughtfully, she left the house while Wei Wuxian waited for his new husband. He was taking in the room that Lan Junjie had prepared for them. Wei Wuxian really liked him. The man was a good teacher and loyal to those he called family, which now included him and Lan Zhan. He blushed when he saw the dumplings on the table and the oil by the nightstand.
