It didn't take long for the Mo's to get used to the Sun Palace. They bonded with their grandmother and Wei Wuxian quite quickly. The Wen Sect leader had taking little Xuanyu under his wing to train him personally while his mother learned under Wen Qing. Most of these training sessions Lan Wangji would hold the babies letting them watch. Other times he tarined the little boy in meditation to grow his core while Wei Wuxian did paperwork in the office with their children in a little play area Wei Wuxian himself created.
Their friends came over all the time to visit the babies. They still had a race to be the best uncle. Poor things had not realised they had already lost. Since little Xuanyu had arrived his kids had clung to him like glue. The little boy most of the time ended up asleep between the two babies. At first his mother had worried but Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji had waved it off glad that the kids would be close family.
The problem came when little Xuanyu's mother disappeared on a trip to gather herbs. Wei Wuxian quickly had everyone looking for her but found nothing. He returned depressed calling on Huasang and his sister for help. Nie Huasang explained that there were rumors that he was kidnapping people to feed on. He has been looking into it for a bit but couldn't find a way to pin it on the Jins. Jiang Yanli reminded them that she was engaged to Jin Zixuan again. If Wei Wuxian could make a talisman that could find her, then she could look for her, pretending she was lost.
Wei Wuxian didn't like the idea of his sister putting herself in danger, but it was the best they could do if they hoped to find her quickly. So he sat at his desk brainstorming a talisman that could find his new cousin while Jiang Yanli comforted a distraught Wen Li. Lan Wangji spoke through the mind link, asking Nie Huasang if he had looked closer at the Jin Sect's clandestine activities. The man nodded, telling them about a work camp he had found where they were putting the captured Wen. He was certain Madam Mo was not there.
Hours later, Wei Wuxian returned with a bunch of the same talisman in his hands. He gave half to Nie Huasang and half to Jiang Yanli, " just in case she is not in Jin territory." The two nodded in understanding before teleporting back to their own homes. Jiang Yanli would go visit her fiancee as soon as she got her bags together. She mind linked Xichen what was happening before leaving. He wondered if he should visit his soulmate to comfort her but decided against it. She was a strong independent woman that wanted nothing to do with marriage. He still hadn't told anyone that his soulmate was the infamous Wen Qing. Not even she knew.
He forced his mind back in order while Jiang Yanli visited her fiancee it was his duty to keep an eye on the Jiangs. In the months following the hunt Jiang Fengmian had died of mysterious causes making Jiang Wanyin the new Sect leader supported by his mother. More like she made tha decisions and her son went along with everything she said. He had hoped the young Jiang would see the error of his ways but it was not to be. The young man seemed more than obcessed with destroying the man he once called brother.
The shift in power had been noticeble many Jiang diciples left the sect unhappy with the way Madam Yu was running things. Many said it would have been fine if Jiang Wanyin was running things alone but Madam Yu was forcing his hand. Every time he was lenient with the speed of their training she would harp on him about how much better Wei Wuxian's sect was than his because he was too lenient. Every time he relaxed she would find him and compare his attittude to Wei Wuxian's. It was a very toxic enviroment but every other sect could see that Madam Yu was running the sect into the ground.
It still never hurt to be too careful so he had sent a few merchants that he trusted to do buisness with Lotus Pier. As a Lan it was highly looked down upon to do something like this but he wasn't just a Lan he was an immortal. Not just an immortal but an older brother watching out for his siblings. He would be damned if anything happened that he could have prevented. The time studying with Baoshan had opened his eyes to how truly jaded the world was. All he could could count on were his sworn siblings.
