~Ten Minutes Later~

"Sir, she attacked me first. I was merely defending myself," I calmly explained my side of the story.

"But look what she did to me!" She protested as she pointed at her bloody nose.

Our teacher pinched the bridge of his nose and gazed over at Hamin and the brown haired boy. "What about you?"

"They both hit me!" Declared the brown haired boy as he pointed fingers at Hamin and I.

"Is that true?" Our teacher asked Hamin. "Because I can't really picture you doing that."

When you're a model student like Hamin, you aren't suspected of doing such things.

"I was the only who hit him. (Y/n) did nothing wrong," spoke up Hamin.

"Sir, I was the one who hit him. Hamin is simply trying to cover for me and place the blame on himself, but he was never involved," I lied.

"Is that so?" He raised a brow at me.

Hamin's eyes slightly widened and interjected, "No, I was the-"

"Just stop. Please," I firmly pleaded.

The room was filled with a heavy and unsettling air that our teacher caught right away.

He cleared his throat and directed his attention to our classmates, "Your parents will be coming later so we can discuss about what happened and your punishment. I expect you to properly apologize to (Y/n)."

A scowl formed on their lips as they gazed at me, but they jumped in fright when our teacher loudly said, "Now!"

"I'm sorry," they simultaneously said as they bowed their heads. I merely looked down at them with my eyes filled with disdain.

"Don't bother me again," I coldly responded as I clicked my tongue and turned away from them.

They lifted their heads and sent a glare at me before stepping out of the office and returned back to class.

"(Y/n) and Hamin, your mothers are on their way as we speak. Each for different reasons, but there is one thing that needs to be discussed," he explained.

Hamin immediately tensed up and froze in his spot with the color draining from his face.

I glanced over at him from the corner of my eye and noticed the change in his behavior, but did not comment on it as I remained quiet.

"I'm concerned about you Hamin, because we've noticed your grades dropping. Is the preparation for the college entrance exams causing some stress or pressure?"

'Well that's something new. I never expected his grades to sink.'

A knock was heard at the door and my mom allowed herself in with her landing on me.

"Oh my! Look at what happened to you!" She cried out as she cupped my cheeks with her hands.

"As you can see and as I said over the phone, there was a fight she was involved in that was initiated by a classmate of hers."

"I would like to see who this classmate of hers is."

"There will be a meeting held later where you will be able to speak to the parents and staff."

"Oh I will," she confirmed.

Another knock was heard and when I looked over to the door, Hamin's mother barged in with a displeased expression on her face.

"Is this the type of person a college or university will accept?!" Yelled Hamin's mother as she held up her phone in front of her son's face.

My eyes wandered over to her phone screen where I saw a picture of us with various headlines on our school's page.

"Why must your daughter tarnish my son's reputation?!" Angrily shouted Hamin's mother as she turned to look at my mom.

"Excuse me?" Blinked my mom as she was taken aback.

"Please calm down. We can discuss this over there," said our teacher as he pointed to a table near the back. "They can wait outside."

Our teacher urged us out of the room and shut the door behind us as Hamin and I quietly waited against the wall.

"Why did you take the blame?" Spoke up Hamin.

"Because I can handle it on my own. There's no need for you to get involved in my mess."

"I could have persuaded him into being more lenient with us."

"Hamin," I sternly said. "I don't need you to get involved especially with the way your mom is and I really don't mind getting away from all of this if they decide to send me home. I just want to... disappear for awhile."

His eyes were intently observing my weary (e/c) eyes and posture and he couldn't help but see himself in me for a second which slightly frightened him.

"Are...you doing okay?" He hesitantly asked.

I blinked a couple of times and processed what I heard just now because I found it surprising considering he never asked nor reached out to me these past few months.

"After everything that has happened...does it look like I'm okay?" I retorted with a facial expression that read 'Are you serious?'

'What have I done?' He thought.

"Do you want me to threaten them so they won't bother you anymore?"

'What is he even thinking?' I eyed him with a brow raised.

"They'll probably think I threatened you to tell them if you say that, so no."

"They'll listen to me."

"I said no."

"Does it hurt?" He asked as he pointed to his cheek.

"Not really. Only for a few seconds at first," I ended as I looked away from him and stared at the empty hallway feeling somewhat awkward around him.

I felt a finger graze my hair and my hand moved on its own at that moment and I ended up smacking his hand away with stunned eyes. "Why are you doing this now?"

"I...I don't know..." he trailed off as he turned his head away from me while I had a puzzled expression etched on my face.

"We agreed on the fact that I should stay out of your life yet you're acting completely different right now! Why?" I raised my voice and lowered my arm back down as I waited for his answer.

"I'm sorry," he responded as we heard the door open beside us with Hamin's mother stepping out first with her head held high. She narrowed her eyes at me when she saw me standing beside Hamin and I felt a chill run down my spine and shifted away from him with my eyes casted down.

"I expect this to not happen again," she warned.

I slowly nodded my head without meeting her gaze while Hamin stared at me with saddened eyes as he followed after his mother who quietly scolded him and I wouldn't be surprised if she were to slap him when they reached their home.

My mom stepped out and pulled me towards her as I rested my head on her shoulder.

"I think he still cares for you," she said as she ran her fingers through my hair.

"If I let him back in, I'll only get hurt again. I don't want to go through that again."

Hamin and I never spoke again after that day nor met each other's eyes when crossing paths.
