"You won't leave our side right? We won't demand a lot from you anymore! So... please...stay with us!" Pleaded Hamin's mother who weakly clutched his shoulders.
A blank expression was plastered over Hamin's face as he stared into oblivion with one thought crossing his mind.
'What's the point if (Y/n) isn't here anymore.'
~A Few Days Later~
A memorial service was held with an image of me framed on top of an altar and people coming by to pay their respects.
Hamin quietly stared at my smiling face in the picture with reddened eyes and a constant gnawing guilt that was eating him away.
"Poor child, she was only seventeen," whispered a woman.
"I wonder what happened to her."
"Well, I heard..."
Hamin drowned out their voices with his hands placed over his ears. Tears were glossing his eyes once more and his breathing growing shallow as the atmosphere began to suffocate him.
'I don't deserve to be here.'
He clutched his shirt right above his heart and turned away until he felt a tap on his shoulder. He stopped and turned to the right and saw Somang who was devastatingly heartbroken with puffy red eyes.
"Can I... talk to you over there?" She asked as she pointed to a secluded area away from everyone in the room.
"Let's go outside."
He led Somang outside the building and found a bench right outside the door where they quietly seated themselves.
Neither said a word for a solid minute until Somang rummaged through her purse and pulled something out.
"(Y/n) always wanted to give this to you, but she never got the chance to after what happened between you two." Somang handed him a photo strip and his eyes widened when he saw the picture we had taken.
This one was in tact unlike the one his mom crinkled and eventually tore apart.
A small smile made his way to his lips as he rubbed his finger over the photo strip with a tear drop splattering over our faces.
"Thank you," he whispered as his eyes remained glued to it as he wanted to take in as much as he could and never forget my face.
"She never stopped looking at it even when she tried to forget you," she informed him. "I'm really sorry about what happened to her."
"I'm sorry you had to lose your friend," he apologized to Somang. "I'm sorry that I took her away."
Somang grew teary eyed and turned her head away from him as she reminisced the time we had and the future we planned out.
"It hurts not being able to see her nor hear her, but I can't imagine how you must be feeling considering you have known her for years," said Somang as she wiped away her tears.
"It feels as if I lost a part of me when she died."
~The Next Day~
Hamin solemnly walked under the light drizzling rain as he neared the place where we first met and hoped that I would be there, but only found a quiet, deserted home.
He grimaced when he entered my family's old apartment that was eerily dark and without a piece of furniture.
He walked around the room until he reached the door to my room. He paused for a second until he turned the knob and lightly pushed open the door.
