Melina's pov

It was morning and I woke up see my dad and Carl packing up the stuff in the tent.

I tried to get up but my body was completely shut down. I couldn't move and when I tried it hurt like hell.

"Dad, Carl, something's wrong, I can't move, it hurts too bad." I said. I could feel tears coming out of my eye.

My dad and Carl rushed to my side. They helped me sit up before Carl sat behind me. I leaned my back on his chest for support.

"We might not make it to the CDC, we might need to do the marriage early." My dad said and I nodded.

"I want to wait a little longer. Please." I begged. "Melina, your dying and in pain. It hurts me just seeing you like this." Carl said.

I can tell he was a little upset but I just gave him the best smile I could.

I leaned into him more and closed my eyes. I was about to go back to sleep but my dad didn't let.

"Hey, no you have to stay awake, if you go back to sleep it'll be nearly impossible to wake you back up." He said and I nodded the best I could.

Carl gently picked me up and started walking to my dad's truck. He sat me down and then climbed in and held me in his arms.

Carl's pov

I held Melina in my arms, seeing her like this hurts, knowing the only thing I can do is sit here and wait until we get to the CDC.

I called my dad over to let him know we need to go as soon as possible.

"Hey Carl, what's up?" He asked. "Dad, we need to hurry and get the CDC, Melina's on the edge of death and doesn't want to get married until we reached the CDC." I explained.

He nodded and yelled for everyone to hurry up. I looked back down at Melina who was curled up into me.

After about 30 minutes everything was packed and ready to go. My mom came over and I rolled my eyes.

"Come on Carl." She said but I shook my head. "I'm riding with Melina, Daryl, and Rose. I already oked it with dad and Daryl, Olivia is riding with you guys." I said.

She stormed off. I love my mother but I can't stand her anymore. She treats me like a baby, and only wants me to date girls like Olivia.

But I love Melina, so much I would cut all ties with my mom just to be with her. I know, it sounds harsh but it's true.

We've been on the road for about 2 hours now, when we heard a honk come from the RV.

We pulled over and Daryl got out. I looked down at Melina to see she was barely holding on.

Rose must have noticed because she started telling me to get her out of the truck.

"Daryl, Rick, hurry!" Rose shouted. I pick Melina up and carried her to where everyone was surrounding Jim.

"We need to do the marriage now or she'll die." Rose said panicked. Daryl ran to his truck and pulled out a piece of paper and two wedding rings.

I sat down with Melina in my lap. "Hey look at me. We have to do this, I can't loose you." I said tears coming from my eyes.

She nodded letting me know she was ok with it. Daryl ran back over with the piece of paper and two wedding rings.

"Give me your hand." He said kneeling down in front of me taking out a knife. I held out my left hand and he drew the blade across my palm.

I can feel everyone's stares on us and hear my mother tell Daryl to stop. He then took Melina's and did the same to her left hand.

"Hold hands and say your vows, but once you say you vows they are to never be broken or it won't be pretty." Daryl said with seriousness.

I took a deep breath. "I, Carl Grimes, vow to always love you, do my best to protect you, and never to break your heart until the day I die." I said.

"I, Melina Dixon, vow to love, protect, take care of you and to never break your heart for as long as I shall live." Melina struggled out.

I smiled and took the ring that was meant for her and put it on her left ring finger. She did the same with my ring with as much strength as she could. (Rings on top)

"I now pronounce you Mr and Mrs Dixon-Grimes." Rose announced. I then kissed her lovingly on the lips with a smile on my face.

Almost everyone clapped. I looked over at Jim to see him smiling at us. "Thank you, that is what I want to see before I go." He said.

I nodded and picked Melina up again. "It was good knowing you Jim. We'll miss you." I said and started walking back to the truck.

Melina went to sleep and the color in her face started to come back. I smiled no caring that the blood from our hands was getting all over our close.

Everyone said their goodbyes to Jim and we were back on the road to the CDC.
