Melina's pov
After everything settled down, Hershel was finally awake.
I was walking with Hershel, Carl, Lori, and Maggie when we heard someone yell "walkers".
Me, Carl, Maggie, and Lori ran into a building then Lori went into labor.
We went into what seemed to be the boiler room. She tried to do a natural birth but something went wrong and we needed to do a C-section.
I took out my knife and handed it to Maggie. Lori then called my name.
"Take care of them, make sure my boys survive, keep our family safe. I'm sorry, for everything." She said before saying some words to Carl.
I was crying as we heard her screams. I had to help take the baby out, so now I was covered in Lori's blood.
Finally me and Maggie took the baby out but it wasn't crying. I gently took the baby from Maggie and started patting her back.
She finally started crying and I smiled through my tears. Carl handed me his flannel and I wrapped it around the crying baby.
Me and Maggie started heading back out of the boiler room as Carl stayed behind to make sure Lori didn't turn into a walker.
I wasn't really happy about the fact that he had to kill his mother. It should've been me or Maggie, not him, but he insisted.
I stopped in my tracks and held the baby closer to me when a gun shot was heard. More tears started coming out of my eyes.
Carl walked past us and we followed him until we got back outside. Everyone came running over to see if we were ok but all I could do was cry.
I might not have been close with Lori but she was my family. Dave took the baby from me as Cash can over and hugged me.
I couldn't hold myself up any longer. I leaned on Cash for support as I cried my eyes out. Maybe I was over reacting but that didn't stop me from breaking down.
Cash eventually picked up my small but big frame and carried me to my room where I stayed there all day with him, crying.
