Carl's pov
We were walking through the woods when we heard a twig snap.
We all turn around to see a beautiful deer standing there. I wonder if I could touch it so I grabbed Melina's hand.
We slowly crept forward and then I accidentally stepped on a twig. The deer looked in our direction but it didn't run away.
We continued to creep forward when all of a sudden Melina pushed me.
I stand up to see her lying on the ground covered in blood, and that's when it hit me, she was shot.
I ran to her side and cradled her small body close to me. "Melina, hey look at me, keep your eyes open." I said.
I then heard a man who I presume shot Melina talk about how he was sorry and that there's a doctor about a mile north from here.
I picked her up and started running, my dad right next to me. I didn't stop running, not even to take a breath.
If I lost her I don't know what I'd do. I then reached a field and started running to the house in the middle of it.
"Hey, help please, help!" I yelled. As I got closer I could see two men and three women. They all came running up to me.
"She was shot, by your man." I said in between breaths. The other male who had brown eyes and shoulder length brown hair.
"Dave, go go get all the towels you can, Patricia help him. You come with me." The older man ordered.
I nodded and he took me into a room where he told me to lay Melina down on the bed.
I complied and set her down. I could feel the shock wearing off and the tears start to fall.
Dave and Patricia came back with the towels. A girl (Maggie) came in with a bag full of medical supplies.
They took her shirt off and started working on her. The girl who's name I learned was Maggie came over to me.
"I need you to leave while we work on your friend." She said. "She not my friend she's my wife and I'm not leaving her!" I yelled.
Everyone looked shocked. "Plus she's going to need blood, we have the exact same blood." I explained.
"She's an angel, isn't she?" Dave asked and I nodded. "I'm her soulmate, we preformed the marriage about a week or so ago." I explained.
He nodded and set up the transfusion. My dad, Shane, and the guy who shot Melina ran in. My dad rushed to my side engulfing me in a hug.
I then broke down in his arms. They were talking about needing to remove the bullet fragments.
As soon as he started she started screaming. "Stop, your hurting, please!" I begged. Hearing her screaming was a living hell for me.
She passed out and he pulled a piece of the bullet out. I rushed too her side and grabbed her hand.
