Melina's pov

It's been around 8 or so months since and we are running house to house and away from herds.

Lori is about due to give birth soon and I'm showing. My baby bump isn't incredibly big like Lori's but it's still a little big.

We were currently in a house and looking for supplies when I decided I needed to change into a different outfit.

After changing I went out side to get some fresh air when my dad and Rick came up to me.

"Want to go hunting with us?" My dad asked and I smiled. "Let me tell Carl and get my crossbow." I said before walking back into the house.

I told Carl and grabbed my crossbow and we went off into the woods.

It was quiet between us but then I finally decided to talk. "Rick, I know your trying your best and all, but Lori's about to pop and we need to find somewhere safe for the baby." I said while shooting a squirrel that ran across the ground.

My dad picked it up and we continued to walk down the railroad that we found.

"I know, believe me. Even though we're not exactly...on good terms, I still want what's best for my family and that includes you." He said walking next to me and giving me a small smile.

I could feel tears in my eyes as I smiled and gave Rick a small side hug. "Thanks, and sorry for the tears, I'm a bit emotional right now." I said.

He let out a small laugh and squeezed my shoulder. I decided to go ahead of them a little when I looked to the side to see a prison.

My dad and Rick were talking about something until I spoke up. "Hey dad, Rick I think I found something." I said still staring at the prison.

They walked over to my side to see the prison. "I think you just found that "safe place" you've been talking about." My dad said and we began walking back to the group.

Of course my dad knew that I believe that there is a safe place for us. This just might be it.
