The door opens and a woman in her mid 30's stands behind it with mid length dark brown hair and a tall figure, it was Sophie's stepmum Alisha.

"Sophie!" She immediately brings her in to an embrace. "I'm so glad that you're finally here. Come in, come in." She lets go and stands aside, allowing Sophie to enter the home with her suitcase rolling in behind her.

Standing in the living room, Sophie takes a minute to look around. It had been months since she was here due to her busy schedule and racing, but nothing much had changed besides a few of the pictures being updated, one of which she noticed was her signing the Williams contract.

A pair of feet echo as they tumble down the stairs and before Sophie could prepare she's knocked over by her half sister Leah tackling her - although there was a 5 year age gap between them, the two had been extremely close.

"Alright Leah I see you." Sophie laughs, pushing Leah off her and sitting up.

"I missed you so much!"

Sophie's heart broke a little. For her to follow her dream and do what she loves she had to make sacrifices, and family was the biggest sacrifice she had to make. With the layout of race weekends, training, and her individual situation where her family was separated, it was difficult to make time for everyone. But her family respected her drive for her career and dealt with the sacrifice, putting Sophie's happiness in front of their want to be close with her.

"I missed you too, so much. But since I'm here for the next few days we will definitely make up for that." She sadly smiles towards her sister.

"My own daughter is in my house but I haven't yet had a hello." Her dad feigns hurt as he leans in the doorframe, looking at his two daughters lying on the floor.

Sophie laughs as she pushes herself off of the ground and runs to her dad, grabbing and pulling him in to a big hug.

"Hi dad."

"Hi sweetie." He wraps his arms around her. "I've missed you."

"I've missed you too." She tries her best to hold it together.

"Sooooooopppphhhhiiieeee!" She's tackled once again but this times it's from her younger brother Noah.

"Hey." She laughs wrapping him in a hug. "How are you?"

"So much better now that you're here. Can we go out a drive?" He excitedly asks. Her little brother also shared her love for racing, with him visiting her whilst she was racing and karting from a very young age.

"She's just in the door wee man, you can both go out later but let her get settled first." Her dad pats him on the back whilst smiling at his eldest.

The dinner table was set for the five of them with her dad at his usual spot at the head of the table, her stepmum on his left with Noah next to her, and Leah on his right with Sophie next to her.

They had all been having small talk whilst tucking in to their pasta, mainly about how the kids were doing at school and their plans for summer.

"So whilst you're here Sophie we wanted to let you know something." Her dad smiles over at her stepmum before looking back to the blonde.

Sophie immeasurable puts her fork down. "Don't tell me you're having another baby." She almost has a mini heart attack. Sure she wouldn't be bothered by the news but it would still be pretty shocking.

Sophie's outburst lead to almost everyone at the table either choking on their dinner or laughing.

"No, no, no." Her dad holds his hand up to stop her. "We've already got our plates full with you three."
