The light above her head being turned on was the last thing Sophie wanted, especially since she was in the middle of dreaming. The bright light causes her to scrunch her eyes and instantly yank the duvet up completely over her head and roll on to her side, whining at whoever had decided to wake her up so horribly, not yet being in the mood to shout at them.
But the covers were quickly ripped away hitting Sophie with a gust of cold air making her seize up in to the fetal position, before she opens her eyes to see Lando standing above her in the matching pyjama bottoms that all of the Norris family were given and a little Santa hat sitting on top of his curly mop with a goofy smile on his face.
Instantly Sophie can't help but smile at him, which makes his grow even bigger. God she loved his smile, it was so kind and infectious that it made her feel warm, warm enough to uncurl slightly. But it's only as she starts to wake up more that Sophie feels even warmer and flustered as she notices that he was only wearing the pyjama bottoms and a Santa hat. She shouldn't be staring, she knows that, but god she couldn't help it and she hated herself for it. Thankfully her hormone filled trance is broken when Lando presses a button on the beats pill in his left hand, making the room almost shake with how loud it is.
"Feliz navidad!" Lando screams to the music whilst shaking his hips. "Feliz navidad, I don't know the rest because it's in Spanish." He sings along to the tune completely out of time whilst still dancing in front of a dumbstruck Sophie.
What the hell was happening.
Without even giving her a moment to wake up and understand what was happening, he places the speaker down on the bedside cabinet and uses both of his hands to grab Sophie and drag her reluctantly up.
"Dance with me." He smiles down at a grumpy looking Sophie who still unknowingly kept her hands interlocked with his. "It's Christmas morning Sophie, and my Christmas wish is to dance with you." He jokes.
"And my Christmas wish was to get a puppy but it looks like we both struck out." She smirks, starting to be more alive.
Lando tilts his head to the right, poking his tongue in his cheek to withhold the sassy comeback, and instead smirks down. Using their still interlocked hands, he forces Sophie to sway and wiggle to the music.
At first she barely moves, but after seeing the enjoyment in his eyes she can't help but loosen up. She starts to shake her hips to the rhythm and use her interlocked hands to swivel with Lando, making the two of them giggle. The moment reminds her of when they were younger and at their karting races, where they would perform a handshake that they had created as part of their prerace tradition. They would do it for all of their races, but once Lando entered F4 a year ahead of Sophie, the pair unconsciously stopped doing their ritual and haven't done it ever since.
"Lando." Sophie stops dancing and drops his hands. Instantly worried he stops dancing and looks over at her. "Do you remember our handshake?"
His look of worry washes away to be replaced by a light behind his eyes. "Do I remember it? Of course I do."
He places his hand outwards for Sophie who can only laugh before beginning their hand shake. She grabs his right hand in hers and gives it two firm shakes, before clapping their left hands above then below their right locked hands. They lift up their still locked right hands and twirl underneath them at the same time and bumping hips as they come out.
As soon as it's finished the pair burst in to laughter with Sophie doubling over and Lando wheezing at the side.
"I've not seen the two of you do that for a while." Adam Norris stands in the door frame with his arms crossed and a smile on his face. "There's a bit of a height difference now so that twirl must've been harder to do."
