( season six )

"NO, no way. That is not the best case we've ever had. You're only saying that because I was locked in an elevator with Reid," Morgan said, ignoring the other women laughing. He, his date, Lyra, and Ororo were at a restaurant, having decided to go on a double date. Morgan had invited Lyra, due to his date wanting to, as he put it, 'meet the girl who got you to learn sign language'. His date, a woman named Skylar, was a translator. So, Lyra invited Ororo, and there the four of them were, at a nice Japanese place, having a hell of a time.

"Yeah, and it was hilarious!" Lyra signed, grinning widely.

"Hey now, Little Red, I'm trying to impress a lady here," Morgan said joking, arm wrapped around Skylar's shoulders. "What if I told an embarrassing story about you in front of your girlfriend, hmm?"

"Oh, I know everything," Ororo said, she and Lyra holding hands under the table.

Lyra nodded. "It's true. And either way, you couldn't. I've never done anything embarrassing in my life."

"Never?" Skylar repeated, eyebrows raised. She looked to Morgan. "Okay, Derek, share a story."

"Gladly. Lyra, prepare to be thoroughly embarrassed," Morgan said. He thought for a moment. "Okay, got one. So, this one time, we-" he started, getting interrupted by the in-sync ringing of his phone and Lyra's.

"A case, right now?" Ororo guessed.

"I'll skip it for you," Lyra signed back at her.

"Woah, setting the bar high for me, Ly," Morgan said. "Sorry, babe," he said to Skylar. "Duty calls. Let's go, Little Red."

Lyra rolled her eyes. She took out a few bills from her wallet and left them on the table. "Should cover the bill and a tip," she signed. She got out of her seat and kissed Ororo goodbye. "I'll text you," she promised.

"Good luck, stay safe," Ororo said in response.

"Isn't the gentleman supposed to pay?" Morgan said as the two agents walked out.

"I didn't see you pulling out your wallet."

"Touché."

Morgan and Lyra joined the others in the briefing room, Morgan with his arm around Lyra's shoulders. "This better be good," Morgan started, "we're missing our date for this."

Seaver opened her mouth, looked between the two, and closed her mouth again, processing the statement. "Are you two-?"

Lyra grimaced, shrugging off his arm so she could sit down. "He wishes," she signed. She looked at Morgan. "You're not my type. On account of you being a man."

Morgan chuckled, sitting down himself. "Hey, you're not my type either, Little Red. You could absolutely kill me. I like sleeping at night," he joked.

Lyra gestured loosely at Hotch, sitting at his usual spot beside her. "We don't get sleep, what are you talking about?" Hotch cast her a look that suggested amusement at that, to which she just shrugged.

"To answer your question, no," Morgan said, to Seaver. "We had a double date. People have speculated, though."

"Excuse me?" Lyra signed.

"Oh, you haven't heard the whispers?" Prentiss joked, playing along.

"The two most attractive people in the office-" Morgan started.
