( season three, episode seven )LYRA woke up to the sound of her alarm that had been going off for five minutes now. She felt the heat of the body beside her. The events of the night before came flooding back to her, along with the headache. She regretted drinking so much. She got out of bed, careful not to wake the man sleeping on the other side of the bed.
She quickly changed out of the clothes she wore the night before and put on something more professional, with her leather jacket on top. She then put on a pot of coffee and finished getting ready, before returning to her room. Scowling, she pushed her best friend, Scott Summers, off the bed, effectively waking him up. It was not uncommon for the two to share a bed when they hung out, a habit they developed a teenagers.
"What was that for?" Scott grumbled, pushing himself up and accepting the glasses handed to him, putting them on before opening his eyes.
"I have work," Lyra signed. "Besides, what would Jean say if she knew you were in my bed?"
"She would say, 'and you didn't invite me?'" Scott said, doing a terrible imitation of his girlfriend.
Lyra smiled in amusement, gesturing with a nod of her head towards the door. "Coffee's ready," she signed before walking out back into the kitchen. It was silent, the two quietly basking in each other's company. There was no telling how long it would be before they saw each other again with their schedules. "Need a ride?" Lyra asked minutes later, going to grab her keys and throwing on a pair of sunglasses, not wanting to face the light of the outside world.
Scott shook his head. "Nah, I drove here, I can drive back. Don't worry, I'll keep the place warm until I leave," he said, grinning.
Lyra nodded. "Spare key is-"
"-In the drawer beside the sink, I know."
She rolled her eyes. "Smartass."
"I saw that!"
"You were meant to!" she signed, turning to do so before heading out the door, not missing her friend's laugh, leaving her with a smile on her face.

Lyra arrived to work only a few minutes later than normal. She walked in with shades on her face and helmet in hand. That, paired with her jacket and scar, made her look badass, as Prentiss kindly pointed out when she walked in. She whistled. "Damn Lehnsherr, I didn't realize you could look any more badass."
Lyra winced at the volume. "Too loud," she signed as she sat down at her desk, wishing to turn off all the lights in the building with a simple flick of her finger, but refraining as to keep her cover.
"Hangover?" Prentiss guessed. Lyra nodded. Prentiss laughed. "Have fun," she teased.
"I won't, thanks," Lyra signed sarcastically in response. Reid was too busy talking to Morgan about inconsistencies within Star Wars to translate, but Prentiss luckily seemed to understand more or less what Lyra was saying.
"A popular theory among leading astrophysicists estimates that the hypermatter reactor would need about ten to the thirty-second joules of energy to destroy a planet the size of Earth," Reid was explaining to Morgan. Prentiss and Lyra shared a look. "Now, Lucas said it took nineteen years to build the first Death Star, right? But if you look at The New Essential Chronology, there's a test bed prototype for a super laser that's been- where are you going?"
"Taking back the last five minutes of my life," Morgan said, walking away, ruffling Lyra's hair as he passed her on his way to the stairs.
"You can't go in there," Reid stated.
