Shadows crowded the streets and the sky, clawing at the gray clouds over the cityscape. Earthy smells of rain swirled, the draft penetrating your cloak. Involuntary shivers rattled your teeth, the goosebumps a second skin. It's them. The ninja all together, hushed on a plan. You're damn more than hesitant to come out of hiding. It took you a moment to scrounge up a "Hello."

"Hi?" Nya waved, mild-mannered and confused.

"What you doing over there?" Cole pinpointed his eyes on you.

"Do you want to help us?" Zane cut to the point, urgent to.

"You still want to?" Kai was asking more himself, peering to the side.

"Wait, how did you find us?" Jay threw that question out there among the rest.

"I believed you wouldn't want to join? What made you change your mind?" Lloyd asked.

"You ask a lot of questions. I just got here," you lied. You walked around them straight into the sewer, lighting it up with wisps. An abrupt gust howled above, ever-present. "You coming or what?"

"I... I suppose we are." Lloyd eased himself down the ladder, the rest following him. You kept on your toes, the message at the forefront. And your paranoia as well.

"Does anyone have any idea where we are going?" Kai spoke before you could lead the way.

"No," you muttered, burying your sure tone.

"I'll track our progress as these tunnels are confusing." Zane never failed to be analytical.

"So you didn't get the scanners online?" Jay asked, a timidness as the dark hung close, your wisps more focused ahead.

"Would've been using it if I did," she grunted. "Why didn't you stay with me?"

"If you can't fix it, what would I do?" That ended there.

"Aw, I just had my suit cleaned," Cole complained, his voice falling somewhere further behind. Which got close, breaking you from your concentration. "It's kinda hard to see where it got dirty." He scooted to the front, trying to brush the muck off his shoulder with your light. You speed up, stealing your spot, Cole perplexed.

"You're blocking the light," you talked through your teeth, the message barring them sharp. You were supposed to play that role. To trap all of them. He shouldn't be there... Soon enough, that part would come and land on your head. You held out your hand, halting them in their tracks, registering in that instant. Wounding the sewers, strings strung out like webs, flippantly thrown all over.

"What kinda amateur work is that?" Cole chuckled, it bouncing off the walls, tunneling further in. You wait for them to pass, holding the light above your head for them to see better. Easy to bypass when you knew where you were going. Was this it? "Something's in the water."

"Not anymore!" Nya shouted. Vermillion warriors were blasted by tall waves, wisps scintillating on the water. From what you can see, the snakes marooned off to a separate runoff. You weren't sure how good their telepathic connection was... "Whew, no one got splashed?"

"No, I didn't even need to freeze it. You're getting better."

"Thanks." Bobbing freely on the bend of the sewers neared a motor boat. Nya directed it over, the side nudging the wet concrete. You might need to steer it if they wander lost for too long... For now, you'll settle in, swallowing in the musty stench of the sewers. A cold hand settled on your shoulder, startling you out of it.

"Don't do that."

"My apologies, I didn't mean to," Zane said, sliding his hand off your shoulder. "You seemed so..."
