You'll admit- you were lost on your trip through the Desert of Doom, but you got back on a shitty track. Riding on sand proved to be an endeavor, your rear tire spun holes in it because of your negligence. Wind too worked against you, the sand splashed into your eyes like hot lava. You had to drive for miles until you found a gas station, out in the middle of the Sea of Sand. Things and places were hellish to find with sand covering up the pavement. You stopped at where the road split off into greenery and not the wasteland behind you.
'Finally, fuck the sand. I hate sand.'
A sign pointed to Ninjago City and another arrow directed to Domu. Yeah, no, you're not going to either of those places. There was a smaller arrow, pointing back. Ignacia outskirts the desert, neatly folded by lush green. That's where you had to fill up your tank and you ended up having to haul the bike with you. Was obviously not fun, but a woman did help you halfway into the settlement, guiding you to a gas pump. You ended up not staying, it was a small village, and word travels at the drop of a hat in those. Didn't help that the woman was rambling on Kai and Nya. She couldn't understand it, and it dimmed her spirits, taking her previous cheeriness. She blamed the Overseer before she left, completely unaware it was you. What a joke.
A loud, abrupt honk shut you out of your daze, and it blasted repeatedly, blaring your eardrums. Heatwaves, coupled with dehydration, and driving for nights and days– made you snap, "Shut the hell up! Or I'm getting off this stupid bike and-!" Your motorcycle sputtered, as you grappled with trying to open the clutch. It rolled forward and you worked to lag it down, a voice yelling out to you. You're hearing things, you had to be. No one had that static when she spoke. When the clutch clicked, you released the pressure instantly, letting out a sigh of relief. You swiveled to the front of the car and saw faces you weren't expecting. They called you out, as did you, "You guys actually made it?"
"You did as well," Zane laughed under his cap. You raised the black sunglasses and yanked your hood off. Miraculously, Lloyd had his black fedora, as if it were permanently glued to his golden hair.
"I thought for sure you were a random biker." Lloyd's fedora was tipped, not doing a great job of concealing his face. He titled it up, a quip of his lips after. "Glad you weren't."
"Are you?" You won't say it to their faces, but you too are a little relieved you met up with them now. Maybe more than a little... Hopefully, they had a plan now. "How will you fix this?"
"We're going to Domu, Wu was there and it might have something to do with why we're in this mess."
"I'm not surprised. What was he hiding?"
"We believe a djinn is the reason for this mess."
"Can't they grant wishes?" Intrigued, you warily fumbled out of the turmoil. "Like anything?" Zane picked on to what you were interweaving in your head. A hope that has damned many who aren't careful of what they wish for.
"We have to treat this situation with the utmost caution-"
"I get it Zane- you worry too much."
He is right to worry. So very right.
"Will you come with us?" Pixel's voice wavered, an uncertainty to it.
"I don't see why not."
'Guess avoiding Domu was never happening.'
...
Interestingly, there weren't any police at the perimeter of the Holy City and their guards were few and far between. Security was worse at the library, Zane was able to hack into the cameras. A single security guard, relaxed as he could be, whistled as he closed the door on his last visitor. If he bothered to check his right, he would have discovered the outlaws.
