Sorry for the wait---- Depending on what you glimmered from the end of dotd with morro, its connected with this part here as the answer he never gives.

Just as you went through, just when you think you lost them... They fall with you on these wavy platforms—a dislodged pier on the ocean. Stinging, salty air flooded festering wounds, pouring out into your voice; "You let them through."
"I didn't want you to go alone." Sea waves crashed, and their scattered cries pelted down. You're at the center of where people last saw loved ones and mournfully held out to the status of missing. A reminder that time and regret are so interwoven.
"We're not supposed to be here..." Swarming water ripped at the wood, an unsteady roll as it all reared against you. Like the air in your lungs as you start to hyperventilate. "I'm– I'm not supposed to be here." The device in your hand overheated your skin. It would explode if pushed too far, too soon. Skylor lowered it for you, taking it from you. "I–I can't change anything–"
"Bullcrap! We CAN do something about this!" Griffin rushed into chaos.
"Griffin–Griffin, come back!" You screamed out. Gone in a second and back the next, he clutched an injured girl in his arms. Zane checked her over as she cried and cried for her grandmother, telling him to go back.
"I will, right now, don't you worry!" Griffin tore your shell-shocked eyes as he rushed with a shout: "Now– now YOU can do something!"
'...me?' That sounded so naive. You were the one– "I'm the one that–"
"That's why you have to go in there!" Skylor took up where Griffin left off in the dust. She hit you on the back, shoving you forward with a harshness that she reserved for herself. "We have to. There's no time for this." The emphasis isn't lost on you. "We'll have to split. We'll come back here to group up."
"I'll shelter the ones you send here," Zane said, freezing the pier in place and boosting up a dome.
"Then this will be safer with you." Skylor gave the device to Zane. Before you could pick this plan apart piece by piece– Fleeting comfort departed with her words: "Be careful, focus, okay?"
Her hands slipped from yours.
Now. You run.
Running the opposite way, you poured out wisps into your claws. Tendrils shot for your dodges and cuts to madly keep up... Did you really think, at one point, you could kill this with a single sword? That up there... you had control? How deluded. Where was your mind? Where is your mind? Vengeful flesh hounded as you ordered the sheltered to run to the icy dome. They called out others as you led the gaining tendrils astray. Tentacles weaved together, smashing you through a door, into the ransacked house and out a window. You're snagged upside down by it, your whole body slammed to the wall instead of rolling to the roof. Headaches pressurize your ears, shrilling another's scream.
"You have to let me go!"
"I'm– I'm not letting you go!!!" Someone cried, the desperation tearing their throat, tearing their body with hopelessness. You kicked in the tendril, and another hooked your leg, an equal strain to pull. You lashed out at it as it climbed to overtake you, sinking deep into its flesh. It ripped your dragging claws out, throwing you onto the roof to roll down it. Singles slide past your metal fingers clawing for anything– You do, hitching the lip of the second story. Below were the two victims. You dropped, puncturing metal into sickly flesh. Thrashing, flailing its limb, it threw the couple into the water as you grappled it, digging your arm into its wound. It pummeled your battered body to the floor, before retreating up the roof, leaving a trail of wisps your eyes only follow.
