Dell looked at me, then Camen, confusion written all over his face. I was confused. Why was he even here? I had told him not to come. He looked between us again, trying to figure out what was going on. When his eyes finally settled on me, is when he started moving again.
He came to me and knelt down on the floor. He grabbed my hand and touched my cheek. I must have looked horrible, because, he looked really worried. Then again, I was probably still bruised up pretty badly.
Tears filled my eyes and slid down the side of my face. He wiped them away quietly. He had to have known that I wasn't his sister. Did he know that my brother was sitting right next to me? Did he know that I was kidnapped? Did he know that I was the reason that everyone he loved, was dead and that he'd blamed the wrong person for all these years? Did he know that I didn't deserve his brotherly love and kindness?
"What's wrong?" he asked me quietly. He wiped another tear away and met my eyes. "What's wrong Baby? What happened to Camen as it Kyle?" I shook my head. I choked on a cry and rolled on my side, away from him. It was all I could answer to, for a long time. They couldn't call me by my name, it just didn't work for me, but Baby was familiar. That had been what my family had called me. "What's wrong with her?" Dell demanded. He touched my shoulder, or maybe it was Camen, I couldn't tell. Everyone was so hot compared to me right now and I felt so scared.
"Dell." Camen said slowly. "Twelve years ago, your sister was adopted into your family, right?" Dell was quiet. I squeezed my eyes tight and curled in on myself. It was hard to breath, like the weight of the conversation was on my shoulders, like my brothers, were here and something bad was going to happen.
"You told her that she was adopted?" Dell questioned anger in his voice. "Yeah, she was adopted, but I don't think that a guy she or I don't know should go around telling her that. You don't have any right... besides, how do you even know?"
"I'm her brother." he whispered and I breathed shakily. I already knew, but it was still like a slap in the face. I'd been adopted, after kidnapped and my brothers, were sitting here together. Dell, from my adopted family, and Camen from my biological family. What else was I to do? I was so scared.
"She was seven," Camen continued. "Someone wanted her, a tracker, and when our parents wouldn't give her up, they were shot and killed. She ran... I tried to find her, but it was raining and dark. Kyle found her first-"
"Kyle?" I shivered.
"No matter how terrible he is now, he did care about our little sister once." Max pulled me into his arms as I shook. He rubbed my arm and tried to keep me warm, but the more that Camen talked, the colder I got and the more I shook. "He found her and brought her back to me. I tried to get her out, but I got shot... I thought I was going to die. I thought that we were all going to die. He took her, the tracker. Dell, he took her and he sold her. I don't know who he sold her to, but somehow, your family found her. Your family took her in-"
"This is crazy." Dell stood. The hand left my shoulder, (maybe it had been his) and it was even worse. "She came from an orphanage, there was no way that she was sold to that place. They barley had enough money to get by, with the kids that were already there. There was no way... no way that my sister could be the sister of a mass murder-"
"I only killed when I needed to, just like you." Camen said and slowly, I sat up. "I didn't kill for the pleasure of it-"
"I have the memories." I whispered to Dell. "I remember..." I started to cry. "Dell... why didn't you tell me that I was... was adopted?" he was quiet. "Dell... answer me please." he clenched his jaw.
"Why didn't you tell me that he was your brother?" he asked me. I don't know what it was, but something broke in me and it hurt. "Why didn't you tell me that Kyle was your brother?" I was quiet. "Why didn't you tell me that you were kidnapped if you remembered, because they told me that you didn't remember anything from your past? Why did you lie-"
