Ludus P.O.V
I unlocked the maroon paint chipped door with the rusting silver knob.

I sighed, my mother's car was not in its usual parking spot and Taylor should have gotten home about half an hour or so ago.

"Honey I'm home" I said jokingly in a deep sing-song voice.

The tapping of tiny feet running against the tile floor was heard from a few meters away.

My little sister's blond hair whipped as her arms flung around me in embrace, she did so with so much force,in fact, that I almost dropped the tupperware gripped in my hand.

"Ludus!" Taylor exclaimed "Mommy, was here and.." It was only now that I realized she was crying.

"Taylor?what's wrong?" I asked concern stitched in my tone.

After patting her back and trying to get her to explain to me, I realized it was a lost case, and decided to take a different approach.

"Sooo, I brought home pizza, want some?"

Her green-brown eyes widened in inocent excitement.
Nodding eagerly she rushed to the dining room. I chuckled and set a pizza slice on a Styrofoam plate and slipped it in the microwave oven.

I set the time to 30 seconds and told Taylor to take it out when it was done before rushing to my room.

I needed to call Mom, this way she could explain why Taylor was crying.
I reached for my back pocket, pulling out my phone. It was nothing fancy, a used Galaxy S 3 given to me on my birthday about a year ago.

I pressed the contact labeled 'Thy who birthed me' and proceeded to call my mother.

A few moments afterwards the front door was heard being slammed open.
I rushed to the door seeing if Taylor was okay.
Turned out she wasn't the one I needed to be worried about.

In the doorframe stood my mother.
Her usual neat ice skater bun had loose strands of auburn hair sprouting all over her head, her blazer's buttons were uneven and her bloodshot eyes had tears streaking from them.

"Mom, are you okay?"
