I hadn't talked to Jannet since yesterday's incident.
Now I know what you're thinking,
But Mason that's not a long time at all
And to that I say, our usual text messaging pattern between each other lasts up until 2:00 AM at least.
I nervously tapped my pencil on my desk as Nicki, a girl who sat next to me, hummed singing in the rain so loudly I'm sure the entire class was silently humming the chourus.
As Mr.Kish walked into the room Nicki's humming faded.
Thank the Lord
Unfortunately, Jannet raised her hand in the front of the room.
"Mr.Kish, I can no longer work with my partner due to...complications." Jannet said glancing over at me when she paused.
Mr. Kish sighed inwardly, obviously not wanting to get into a fight with a 17 year old girl at nine in the morning he simply replied, "Umm, Ludus switch partners with Ms. Yarvens here."
Ludus's eyes widened in all their green glory, her shocked glance shifting between me ,Jannet , and Stephanie.
"B-b-but-" she started, but Mr. Kish gestured for her to sit.

After class Ludus came up behind me.
"Okay what the f**?!" She asked me.
"You curse?" I asked skeptically, biting back laughter.
She rolled her eyes and returned to her original question. "Why is Jannet dumping you as a partner?" She asked calmer this time.
"One that's none of your business, and Two why do you care its not like we can switch again."
She nodded, I had a point.
"Listen just meet me at my place after school and we'll work on the project." I said rushing off to second period.

Ludus mindlessly bopped her head to whatever she was listening, occasionally though she would scribble an idea down. My mind continued to blank, only capable of worrying about Jannet.
Nathan burst into my room ,his phone in hand. " Mason do you have th-" he stopped when he saw Ludus bopping her head on my beanbag chair. Nathan wiggled his eyebrows, quickly closing the door so I couldn't interject.
I rolled my eyes, attempting to get back to work.
Suddenly the door clicked again.
"Nathan go the fu-" I started.
My mother's figure filled the door frame, she looked over my room, her eyes landing on Ludus.
