I waved out the door to a tired looking Ludus, walking a few houses over to her own front door.
Finally, when she was gone down the street to the point where she was nothing other than a red blob in the dimly lit street, I marched to my room. I stopped at the second to last step, hearing the faint sound of sobbing.
In curiosity, I followed the sound.
My sockless feet tiptoed on the tile flooring as the sound grew louder.
When next to My mother's door, I discovered the sound was Not from her, though she was having an intense phone conversation.
"I know,I know!I want to tell the Kids too!"
I could hear her sigh in defeat. "Yeah, love you too."
I stopped My evesdropping, Not beacause I felt guilty, but mostly beacause My original mission to find the source of the crying and stranggled sobs.
I continued tip-toeing.
After about five minutes I found myself entering our livingroom, where a small figure was shaking and letting out raspy sobs.
"Nathan?" I asked suddenly, making him turn towards me his red eyes wide and alert.
He relaxed a bit when he recognized it was only me. His face settled into a frown.
"Hey,"
"What's wrong,Nathan?"
His eyes filled with tears before whipping his head around again.
"Nothing," He stated.
"Does it have anything to do with you and Mark?" I guessed.
"There Is no 'me and Mark' he just dumped me."
I gasped, Mark and Nathan had been together for two years now, usually couples like That didn't just break up in the random, especially when they seemed so happy.
"He said I was a phase, somthing he 'tried out' and now he's back to dating chicks." Nathan finished saddly.
"A phase," he scoffed, "Who in the HELL, makes out with a phase?"
