Splendid was in Splendont's room, taking up space on his bed as his brother moved about picking up little things he had left on the ground. Splendid hugged his pillow, grateful that his brother was cleaning up his room.

"Talk about what?"

Splendont looked up at him, "Your little gay awakening?"

Splendid blushed furiously and buried his face into the pillow, "Don't say it like that..."

He heard his brother snort before coming over. The bed shifted as his brother sat down next to him, pressing up against him, and nudging his shoulder in a comforting manner. Splendid huffed, refusing to look up.

"You know I'd accept you no matter what, right?"

Splendid turned his head slightly. He could feel tears gathering in his eyes. He couldn't remember much about their home before earth. But he did remember that one of their main goals in life was to populate.

Men couldn't populate together.

"You've never expressed interest in anyone before. I didn't think you knew how to kiss." Splendont joked, wrapping his arm around Splendid and nuzzling the top of his head. "I mean, I'm glad and all that you're not some celibate, but the psycho soldier? Really?"

Splendid let out a watery laugh, "I didn't mean for that to happen."

"What?"

"Liking him."

Splendont hummed at that, gently scratching scalp and behind his ears in a comforting manner, making him sigh in bliss. Splendid leaned against his brother, relaxing more and more as the repetitive motions eased the whirlwind of emotions swirling in his chest. Since that night, Flippy has not resurfaced.

Fliqpy has been out.

He holed himself in his room after it became clear Splendid and Splendont would not let him leave the house, considering the first thing he tried to do was go into town and murder people. Not a fun last month as Splendid had to dash in and out of work to help Splendont stop him.

"You fucking fags! Don't touch me! I won't catch your damn disease!"

Splendid felt worse and worse hearing such words from him. Especially once he was forced to write articles about Flippy's internal homophobia since Lumpy thought it would "add more drama" to the tragic enemies-to-lovers trope. It seemed to be the only thing on people's minds now, distracting them from their mundane lives outside of the curse that came and went.

Fliqpy was also refusing to eat any of his peace offerings. Most of the time, the plates of food would be left untouched or kicked over from where Splendid tried to leave it for him. Splendid was worried. Isolating himself. Starving himself. Was he so disgusting to the other that anything Splendid tried to offer was grotesque in his eyes?

It made his chest clench in pain.

He didn't like this hurt.

He felt thumbs wiping his eyes and cheeks. It took him a moment to realize that he was crying again. Splendont frowned at him in concern as he tried to wipe his tears away. Splendid offered him a shaky smile, but it fell when Splendont couldn't offer him one in return.

"Splendid..."

"It really hurts." Splendid sniffed, trying to keep his voice level, but failing as he turned away and buried his face into his pillow. "I hate this feeling."

Fliqpy. Let me out!

Flippy had come to in their mind a few days ago. Memories of his last encounter with Splendid came to mind, as well as Fliqpy's memories where he tried to leave their temporary — probably permanent — home. He was horrified to see how Fliqpy treated Splendid and Splendont. Calling them slurs, trying to murder them in their sleep, running off to hide away, and just in general being a horrible person.
