Chiye sat on the ground, listening to Kartein's harsh words yet gentle tone. Her eyes were close and her posture was similar to that of meditation.
She's practicing a technique that is similar to a force control. However, because she doesn't have a core, the energy she absorbed is very quick to fade away. She tried it many times and it ended in failures. The feeling of gaining something only to experience its slow and gradual disappearance is not a good feeling.
Especially for Chiye. She doesn't like the feeling of happiness being turned into disappointment.
She consulted Kartein about this and ended up in this situation.
"Don't stop absorbing. Only stop if you feel like you can't absorb anymore."
"That's impossible." Chiye argues with a frown. "The energy in your world is abundant. My absorption may be on small amount but with my curse technique that enchance my body, I can continue to absorb as many as I can. The problem lies with the fact that the energy I've already absorbed is disappearing."
"Having an abundance of energy means it won't run out even if you try to absorbed it for a day or two." Kartein quickly reasoned, "The reason why I'm telling you to do that is to have you find out why the energy inside your body is leaking out. There might be wrong with the way you absorbed the energy or perhaps, you simply can't absorb it. There's also another reason but we're not gonna delve deeper in that for a moment. Now do as I say."
Listening to Kartein reasonable and logical analysis, Chiye fell silent. She sighed and closed her eyes, no longer responding to Kartein.
She had to admit, what Kartein said makes sense.
I still have a lot to learn.
Chiye didn't know what to feel. She prided herself about being knowledge in the verse of curses and curse techniques but now....
