DISCORSO IBRIDO! 🪄

Once they settled the payment, they made it back to the car. Pulling out of the parking lot, realization hit Jisung like a wave of nausea. Just because they removed the tracker, doesn't mean he's safe. They still know where he is and where he lives, who he hangs out with, everything they possibly could know and the only way Jisung could avoid any of this would be to move to a different area, possibly country. Jisung can't afford that unless he drops out of college and leaves all of his new friends in the dust. But was that really worth it for his own protection? Would it be for his own protection, or are his friends in danger too?
"What're you thinking about?" Minho asked, shifting one of his hands that was formerly on the steering wheel to rest on Jisung's knee. Jisung unnoticeably flinched at this, gulping as he tore his eyes away from the hand and onto the blurs of color racing past through the window.
"Tracker." Jisung sighed, finding no point in lying because Minho probably knew what he was going to say anyways.
"Mm." Minho hummed, thinking of an answer. "You don't need to worry. Your friends and I will protect you the best we can, alright? We aren't gonna let them get you."
"You don't know what they're capable of. Did you see how advanced that tracker was? It was made almost a decade ago and it was far more advanced than any technology like that today. Who knows what they were able to do in 9 years." Jisung chuckled ironically.
"And I don't care. They won't get you, okay?" Minho said, softly drawing circles on Jisung's knee. He blushed a little bit, but sighed, resting his head on his hand. The older was so caring and it started to pain Jisung keeping his secret from him. He felt like he owed it to him to tell him.
You know what?
Once they get home, he'll tell him. He's gonna do it. He's gonna do it!
But first..
"Hyung?" Jisung asked, the boy humming in response to show he was listening. Jisung gulped. "Have you ever heard of animal hybrids?"
"Half human and half animal people?"
"Mhm.."
"Yeah. But I don't know anything about them or if they're even real. Seen them from movies and stuff." Minho responded, eyes squinting suspiciously at Jisung for the random question. "Why?"
"No reason." Jisung tapped his fingers on his chin with that look. The look where he's totally lying and thinks he's so convincing when he's not. But then that could only mean one thing.
Oh.
It had all started to make sense. All this time, Minho tried figuring out what was wrong with Jisung's story about being held hostage. The missing piece of the puzzle. Had he found it? What else could it have been? More importantly, though.. if hybrids existed, how the hell has no one found out about their existence? Was Jisung delusional? Mentally ill? Were hybrids more than just pages in a fantasy novel?
Minho sighed a little bit. Yeah, either way, definitely not 'no reason'.
"But.. If they were real, what would you think about them?" Jisung timidly asked, turning away a little bit more. It was a hint, no doubt. Minho wasn't stupid. Oh my, this boy is so obvious. Minho almost giggled.
"Well, I'd find that to be pretty fascinating. I heard that they're really cute." Minho pressed, almost laughing out loud when Jisung turned away more to hide his blush, red ears still on full display. He was sure now. It was crazy and one hell of an assumption but nothing else would make sense.
