Leo's pov:
Someone took him, I knew the moment we started really talking about it. I didn't know how I knew, there weren't words to explain it, but I knew. Someone had taken my twin when he was at his most vulnerable and I was going to find out who did it and make them pay. Raph thought that he was just hiding somewhere safe while waiting for help or something, I didn't really pay attention to what he thought about it after a while because he was wrong. Mikey hadn't said anything about what he thought had happened, but with the look on his face, I could tell that whatever he was thinking about wasn't good. I did my best to keep things calm by using my talent of poorly timed humor, but all it did was upset them more, so I kept my mouth shut. Someone had to act like they weren't worried about all of this, right? Raph was already cracking under the pressure, we could both see it, and Mikey probably wasn't doing much better. He was definitely going to try to put our feelings ahead of his own, it was definitely a Mikey thing to do. I just had to keep an eye on things while acting like I wasn't paying attention to a single thing. The only thing I had actually not been paying attention to that day was Donnie... it was a poor decision on my part and it made things so much worse for everyone.
If I'd been paying attention to him, maybe I would've realized that him tracking down a giant lion mutant that had already sent people to the hospital alone wasn't the best idea. Instead, I just trusted his abilities blindly without thinking, no wonder he thought I was dumb. We'd searched for hours, we tried everything we could think of to find him but nothing worked so far. The entire west side of New York City had no signs of him anywhere, we'd wasted precious time looking there when he wasn't going to be there and now we were already tired and stressed from all of the searching, plus it didn't help that we hadn't eaten before the mission started. "I'm sorry guys, I really do wanna keep looking, but my blood sugar's low..." Mikey was the first to call for a break, he leaned against Raph and whined softly. If he went without food for too long, he'd realize when his blood sugar got low and he'd let us know, just like he did when I convinced them all to go into the maze of death. Thinking back, it was a bad idea to make him go through a tiring maze while he was already not feeling well. That wasn't the point though, thinking back was wasting time.
"Alright... you and Leo go home and get something to eat, I'll keep looking." Raph patted Mikey's head, then gave him to me. "Call April or me if you think you're even risking being in danger or think you might be, okay?"
"Woah, since when did we say we were splitting up?!" I looked at him like he was crazy, probably because he said something insane just then. "I thought we all agreed that we shouldn't split up anymore because we don't have an even number of teammates!"
"I'm big enough to handle myself, I've got this, Leo." Raph gave me a thumbs up. "It'll give me some time to think and be alone anyways, you don't need to worry about me." That didn't make any sense, we shouldn't alone in such a dangerous situation.
"That thing ripped through metal, Raph!" Mikey was on my side and I thanked the pizza supreme in the sky in the spirit of mindless humor to cope with stress. "Why on earth do you think you'd do better against it than Donnie's tech?!"
"Mikey, just listen to me, I'm not gonna interact with the guy, all I'm gonna do is look for Donnie. That mission's on pause until we find him, so we're not gonna mess with the mutant." Raph was stubborn, it made me wonder why he was really trying to work alone on finding Donnie. It was suspicious that he wanted us to go so bad, what was he hiding?
"Raph, come on, we're going home together!" I wasn't going to give up that easily, so I was going to use the one thing he couldn't ever argue with. "This isn't just for you, we're just gonna worry about you if you don't come with us! Plus, what if the mutant comes to us and you aren't there with us to give us a better chance to defend ourselves?!" Raph froze at that, I knew it was messed up to say that but I would rather manipulate him than him end up dead, it was something I'd just have to apologize for later nonchalantly, like I didn't feel bad about it.
