Chapter 31: We Don't Know When To Quit

Defeating Phantom Lord was all that mattered now. It was always the end goal, but to Juvia, it meant more than just avenging her family. All the pain and suffering that they had caused to innocent people, her dear lover, her beloved friends, her big brother... all the vengeance that burned inside of her was finally coming to fruition.

"You ready?" Gray gripped her arms firmly. They were right outside the meeting room where they would discuss the operation to end the never ending war once and for all.

"More than ever," They took a deep breath, held each others hands, and pushed the double doors. Every member of the FTA was present, with a new sense of purpose. Phantom Lord's mission wasn't about getting revenge on them, it was getting revenge on the entire world. Jellal was by Erza's side, front and center.

"We underestimated them. We've had the upper hand for the longest time we didn't win. We failed to stop them, no matter how hard we tried. And now they hit us at our most vulnerable states," Jellal began. "However, we haven't lost either. They may have taken over our base but we are still here. Every sacrifice that was made to get us to this point won't go in vain. Because we are the FTA. We don't know when to quit,"

Everyone started cheering and motivating each other through yells and shouts. Juvia and Jellal exchanged glances. She nodded for him to continue.

"Gajeel Redfox was one our best, loyal, and dearly loved agents. He did everything in his power to nurture and protect the people he cared about. He sacrificed his life to end Jose once and for all, saving the people he loved most. Him and so many others will receive justice. As long as we work together like we always have, come up with a new strategy, and have faith in each other, we will end them, and take back our home. The only thing we have left to lose is each other," He gently pulled Erza to his side, placing a small kiss on the side of her head. Everyone gasped in shock, not to mention Erza who's complexion was the same hue as her scarlet hair. "I'm willing to risk it all for the sake of our community. Are you?"

"Let's FUCKING GOOOO!!!" Natsu roared before the rest of the agents joined him. Gray gripped Juvia's hand tightly, fully aware that this was going to be his last chance avenge his family. And so was Juvia.

Erza and Jellal orchestrated the new operation in just a few hours with no detail left unchecked. Alzack and Bisca instructed a group of agents to organize the weapons and artillery they had left. They ordered Lucy and Natsu to look over the town along with some other agents in order to fortify their temporary base. Wendy and Porlyuscia gathered as many medical supplies as they could to prepare for the war. Mirajane was working on distributing the remaining magic pills she could gather from the facility. Laxus continued to monitor Bora, relocated in the boiler room of the hotel. Gray and Ultear were sent back to HQ to observe Phantom Lord's operations from a safe distance. They were to report back to Erza and Jellal about their findings so they adjust their strategies accordingly.

"Do you want me to call her over now?," Jellal asked her. She and Jellal were in the temporary office that the hotel had, with all of their gadgets laid out, projecting their plans and Phantom Lord's last sightings.

"Yeah..." Erza responded softly.

Jellal tapped his watch to make a call. "Hey Juvia. Come into the office whenever you're ready,"

"Hi Jellal-kun, Erza-san," She entered the room, bowing respectfully to them.

"You don't need to be so formal sweetie," Erza laughed, walking over to hug her tightly. "How have you been feeling?"
