Chapter 8: The Uncomfortable Question

The following morning, Juvia went to the cafe with Lyon and Meredy for breakfast since Gray had a  few tasks to attend to. 

"I cannot believe you stole the last crepe!" Meredy growled, seeing Lyon devouring it whole. 

"You snooze, you lose," He scoffed. Juvia didn't pay attention to her banter as she stared nervously at her soggy bowl of cereal. 

"Are you okay, Juvia?" Meredy asked with concern. 

"There's something on your mind, isn't there?" Lyon said with his mouth half full. Suddenly, she slammed a clenched fist on the table. Lyon and Meredy hugged each other for dear life, trembling at her sudden change of aura. 

"Gajeel-kun IS SO ANNOYING!" She squealed, withering like a dead flower. Lyon and Meredy looked at each other, wondering how to comfort her. 

"Why do you think that?" Meredy questioned. 

"He won't tell Juvia how I met Gray-sama before," She whined, resting her sagging upper body on the table. 

"You met him before?" Meredy asked excitedly, sitting at the edge of her seat. 

"Gray-sama and Gajeel-kun said so yesterday, but Juvia doesn't remember..." She continued. 

"Why don't you ask them then?" Lyon suggested before he got up to throw away their trash. 

"Juvia did ask Gajeel-kun last  night but he said that I should talk to Gray-sama about it..." She murmured. 

"Are you nervous to talk to him?" Meredy inferred. Juvia nodded and pouted. 

"Juvia is scared Gray-sama will hate her for being nosy...." She whined, resting her head on her crossed arms. 

"You're not nosy for asking him. You both met after all so I'd say that you're involved and have the right to know," Meredy comforted, patting her head. Juvia gazed at her with puppy eyes. 

"Really? You think so?" She said. Meredy grinned and leaned in closer. 

"I know so," She stated. Once breakfast over, Lyon and Meredy joined the rest of then FT Academy class. 

Gray messaged her watch that he was going to meet her at HQ. Now that she is an FTA agent, she will now continue to train at HQ grounds. She gripped her magic pills as she exited the academy. Gray was already at the entrance to HQ, leaning against the doors. 

"Morning Juvia," He greeted, raising his hand. 

"G-Good morning, Gray-sama...." Juvia responded, trying to maintain her balance. 

"You okay?" He asked, looking at her with his daring eyes. 

"J-Juvia's alright! Just a little nervous to use magic...." She lied. Gray nodded and faced the entrance. 

"This is the easiest part so don't worry," He replied, gesturing for her to come forward. She swallowed one of her pills and stepped towards the entrance. "Now all you have to do is make a circular motion with your hands. Your left has to always be above but they're both going clockwise," He demonstrated. 

"Okay Juvia, you got this," She told herself before taking a deep breath and imitating what Gray did. Right before her eyes, she saw a blue magic circle forming. Once it was complete, the doors opened as they usually would. "Yay! Juvia did it!" She cheered, jumping up and down.
