Chapter 15: Don't You Dare

The two agents ran to the scene, taken aback by the fire spreading from one log cabin to another. Some of the villagers were running, others were crying on the sidewalk, not moving a single muscle. Juvia swallowed one of her pills and manipulated water coming from the fire hydrants and wells, showering it over the log cabins. Gray swallowed one of his as well and tended to the nearby villagers who were injured.

"Juvia! Gray! Are you guys okay?" Alzack yelled from the distance.

"Alzack-san! We're okay!" Juvia said, successfully stopping the fire from spreading.

"What happened?" Gray shouted. Alzack was carrying a few weapons.

"You were right. Phantom Lord is on the loose. Bisca and I will help the villagers to safety," Alzack explained briefly before tossing them pistols. "Think you guys can handle them until we get back?" Gray locked the ammo in place.

"We'll be fine. Be careful," Gray reassured him. Alzack nodded at the two of them before running in the opposite direction. "Alright. See if you can find any of them lurking on the left. I'll check the other side,"

"Right!" Juvia responded before running off. Gray was a little nervous about letting her go off on her own but he had enough confidence in her. It was a little difficult for her to see through all the smoke that emerged. Her sweaty hands made it difficult for her to get a good grip on her gun. She had some practice back at the shooting range but was still very uncomfortable using it. She paid attention to every single step she made, making sure to pay attention to her surroundings. Suddenly, she saw a blade coming straight for her face so she instantly dodged it. A man with an eye patch and rugged clothing approached her once again.

"Heh. Found ya fairy fly!" The man cackled charging at her. Juvia stunned him and shot his leg at point-blank range. "Ah! You BITCH!" Juvia's eyes widened at his insult and knee-capped him, knocking some of his teeth out before he fainted.

"You're Juvia's bitch now," She growled. She noticed the insignia of Phantom Lord on his left arm, instantly reminding her of that tragic day. This was her chance to avenge her father once and for all. As she was about to find more Phantom Lord members, she heard a little girl scream not so far out.

"Oh no. It can't be!" She darted towards the voice and saw Asuka grabbed by a man ingrained in her memory.

"Damn, you're a fighter little one. Phantom Lord is going to love you," The man cackled, as Asuka cried in his arms, trying to wriggle free.

"Let her go you monster!" Juvia yelled, running towards him with full force. The man locked eyes on her and without a moment's notice, swept her off her feet. She fell straight on her back, wincing at the pain. Her vision started to haze and she couldn't hear that well. All she heard was Asuka shouting her name and the man laughing. When she tried to turn on her side, she saw Bisca who was knocked out and brutally injured. "N-No...Bisca-san..."

"Finally. It took this much effort to find you," The man kneeled down to speak closer to Juvia who was laying on the ground, trying to get up. He kicked her harshly in the guts, making her spit out blood.

"No! Juvia-niichan! Leave her alone!" Asuka cried, punching him as much as she could.

"Okay. Now you're starting to annoy me," The man said reluctantly, throwing her against a wall. Before she did, Juvia was able to muster up enough energy to make a water cushion from a nearby water source, preventing Asuka from any more injuries. "Well, aren't you a hero Ms. Lockser," He scoffed, grabbing her from the neck before lifting her up the ground. She squeezed his hand tightly and gritted her teeth. "You know who I am, don't you?" He then sent a punch in her stomach again making her shout in pain. Her body became so numb, that she was unable to speak. In the corner of her eye, she saw Asuka staring at her in fear.
