HEEEEYYYY! I never thought I would do this AT ALL for ANY of my fanfics but for some reason, I want to talk to you guys about the reasoning behind my over-the-top obsession with Gruvia. Without a doubt, my obsession with Gruvia HAD TO START with Fairy Tail. A friend of mine suggested it to me after my Attack on Titan phase. (I am a Levi fanatic btw ) I was very intrigued by the first episode especially with those detailed and animated magic circles. Still kind of salty about the removal in the new artstyle but whatever. NOW, for the BREAKDOWN.

Besides the hotness, I also love his Japanese voice actor. He voiced many popular characters like Yoshiki from Corpse Party, Ikuto from Shugo Chara, Tomoya from Clannad (Juvia's voice actor played Nagisa who was Tomoya's love interest AHHHH) and so on. His character designs over the years transitioned him from baby to full on HUNK. Like his Ice Devil Slayer form makes my heart flutter all the time.
Now for his actual character, his tough persona was always so attractive but his immaturity made him more youthful which I liked a lot. Yes, he definitely isn't normal due to his stripping habit but I've never seen any character with that kind of quirk (not a My Hero Academia reference LMAO) so it made his character a lot more interesting.
His storyline was very intriguing. Losing his parents to a monster and learning ice magic from his mentor, Ur during the Galuna Island Arc was a great way of revealing who he was and who he is now. I think anyone can agree that each main character has an tragic past and have all seeked refuge in Fairy Tail. I'm not going to say that it's a UNIQUE concept since mainstream like Naruto, One Piece, and Dragon Ball Z also heavily revolve around that type of storyline but it is definitely appealing to people who just love magic and are seeking for a more modern rendition. BACK TO GRAY AHERM. The way he has developed throughout his personal storyline makes me so emotional. We all know that he is not that straightforward when it comes to expressing his care for his comrades let alone Juvia that when he does break his boundaries, it makes it so much more intense and important. Any Gruvia fan knows that everyone he truly loves dies in front of him which is why it's hard for him open up. Natsu and Juvia are definitely the two characters that have shared the weight of his past and burdens.
